I was really disappointed to hear in the Drag Me To Hell review, that Dan didn't like Session 9, which is one of my favorite horror/psycho-thriller flicks. I remember watching that movie with my buddies, with all the lights turned off. As the end credits started rolling, we slowly looked at eachother and said, "Holy shit..." The movie disturbed me to my core, and I actually lost sleep over it (can't remember the last one that did that to me).
Since then, I've tried to recommend it to people, and it seems that they're either in the "I didn't find that scary at all" camp, or the "that movie FUCKED me up!" camp. The most terrifying thing about the movie, isn't necessarily jump-scares, but the slow burn. I found a lot of people who didn't like it, just thought it was boring. I also appreciate that it's just ambiguous enough to be seen as either a very "realistic" horror film or possibly supernatural. Not to mention, the cast/crew believed that the condemned Danver's State Hospital (where they filmed) was actually haunted. I think the movie, tone-wise, is extremely similar to Kubrick's version of The Shining (which people have also mentioned as a criticism).
I love it. What does everyone else think?

A technical side-note: One of the first features shot on HD.
