Give me some titles of general interest, nonfiction books that would appeal to folks on this site. Books like Cuckoo's Egg and Soul of a new machine.
Thanks

Forbidden Lego -- manual on how to build creative Lego projects.
Teach Yourself Electricity and Electronics by Stan Gibilisco -- published by McGraw-Hill. This is a great book; it starts out by explaining clearly and simply the physics behind electricity and finishes at robotics and integrated circuits and such. And in between it covers everything like Ohm's Law, AC, DC, circuits, diodes, voltage regulators, multi-meters, etc.. It's a textbook with tests/quizzes and can be kept as a reference manual. You probably are asking for books more along the lines of like the history of the development of the internet, or something about ENIAC, etc.. But I love this book and thought I'd throw it in.
iWoz is awesome. I highly recommend it, even to a non-Apple user.

I loved Masters of Doom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masters_of_doom) - check it out, especially if you are a video game fan.
