Fedora 11 or Redhat 20 if you count from the original Redhat distros/ Can not wait to try the yum group install command so you can set up a web server or the like with just one command.

Is dangermouse's autoeleven script out yet? After the latest DWW, I am really considering something else for my sidux laptop.

All I know about sidux is that it is another debian derivative and they are having problems now.

If you have an nVidia card, a Broadcom chipset, or want Flash and codecs, follow this link: http://dnmouse.org/autoten.html

The package gives you an easy installation of many things that tend to be a lot more difficult to deal with. If sidux doesn't get their act together, I will be making the move to F11.

Mepis and Mepis Antix to me are the best distros to start someone out with. everything just works. Antix is geared to older machines like the later pII's and pIII's.

Fedora 11, its community-focused operating system for desktops and laptops. I've been evaluating Fedora 11 for the past week and find it polished and professional while meeting or beating Windows in key performance areas. It just works, And fast, too.

I like and use Fedora. Although I tried to install 11 from Live CD which it didn't like much. Although I see fixes on the forums. I never used to be a fan of red hat, it's not been that long that I looked at Fedora in all honesty.
