Well, at 3:30am Star's water broke on me, literally on my lap, just as I was thinking about heading to bed. Well, scratch bed! I woke up Cody and he stayed up until the first kitten was born. Star labored on me (I swear this car would live on me if she had the chance), and then scooted to the couch just in time for the first one, a boy, to come out at 3:50am. Thank the gods the couch is leather, so it was easy to clean! It was clear the births were going to be on the couch, so we got a towel under her.

The next two came close together. First was a boy at 4:12.

Then the first girl at 4:15 (the one on the bottom). Haha! The dates the Titanic set out and sank. These two are Jack and Rose.

Nothing for a short time, then another girl at 4:45.

Before anyone jumps all over there being kittens, Star was supposed to have been spayed before we got her. She didn't have the signs of heat aside from being very affectionate, which she is anyway, so that isn't really a sign for her. She WILL be spayed as soon as the vet gives the go-ahead.

A cool name for one of the little girl kitties would be Alyx, as in Alyx Vance from Half-Life 2, pronounced the same way as Alex.

I never got to name our family pets, as my older brother and sister got to. Sniff, sniff. Let me go cry softly into my Head Crab plush toy, also from Half-Life 2.
