To answer a viewers email, in this episode we show you how to create a head shot, splatter some blood and make a convincing muzzle flash.

wow episode 3 and they are already checking their emails...another great show, I don't have much interest in film making, but I really like the show, and eagerly await a new show every week!!! Keep up the good work guys

I think you guys should do a slow-mo episode so the show lasts longer... Great episode and great resource plugging. It's always nice to know where you can get the more difficult to find purchases.

This episode was pure awesome. This is exactly what I was wanting to see... physical effects. That super soaker blood splatter was surprisingly good looking.
The main guy (Sorry don't know names) needs to stop talking so fast. This episode could have easily been 15 minutes if he would slowwwww downnnn.

Can you take an episode to run over how you get such great color? Specifically with color correction, and if you could include your lighting setups, gels, filters and lenses it would be a dream ep come true.
Nice job as always.

Hi,
First of all well done for your show, as a beginner in final cut pro I am finding it very interesting!! ..
I have a question, can you tell me any sites that provides free sound effects like the gun shot effect that you used?
Thanks again,
Justin

That would be nice to see.
Another great Episode, I have no problems w/ speed. It's and adrenaline pumped show, i like the fast paced, it keeps it moving..
Amazing episode as always guys, I think you should have used the squarspace ad from the first episode (I think that's the better one) but I don't care that much. It did feel a little short but that's probably because it was mixed in with the Digg-meetup stuff (that was great by the way) and you showed a lot of balls asking someone out on camera.... ... ...So we all want to know, what did she say?
One annoying thing for me is I'm still using Premier Eliments V2.0, I'm saving up for the pro or normal version, so I don't have the luminance key, I could try and use a Chrome key on the black, or use Zwei Stein 3.01 (awesome free efects program but hard to use and not fully translated from German).

Another fantastic episode but i felt we we're robbed with the same commercials from ep.2 not that I am complaining mind you, but I was hoping for more about Tim's problem with inappropriate material on the web.

Oh my god Glenn, how could you not know Star Wars?! Hopefully that was just the Film Riot guys taking some editing liberties. If not, then Alex might have to take you to task. :)

Look for blending modes as well. You would use a screen.

Since we were in NY there was no time for it. I am trying to continue new ads as much as possible, but there will be weeks where it is either a recycled ad or a mention like the other shows. I have a few ideas in the works though ;)

I thought it was when he whispered Casablanca in her ear.
Anyway weren't you on BB Live show with one of those guys,
The "Get a PC" guy.

I'm liking the commercials alot....watching the repeat of squarespace ad made me think of an idea......keep the squarespace robot character and do different stories with him. I know it takes some time to do new commercials so I'm not disappointed to see the same ones again...in fact i still laughed at them.

I've been throwing together ideas for a quick action shoot-out. So this episode was totally meat & potatoes for me.. I'll post it, when i'm done..

That's awesome! This is the kind of thing we'd love to see. If we're helping anyone in any way w/ their filmmaking its the best when we can see how an idea was used. Post that as soon as you've got it done! Good luck w/ the project, I can't wait to see it!

Man...just got finished with the third episode and this show is probably the best show on revision3. Honestly...these guys are so creative, so informative, and so all around awesome. Again, great episode guys.

great show guys, I have to say it's probably one of the top 2 shows for me on Rev3....the other being CO-OP. You guys are very creative and incredibly helpful. You make film editing and shooting seem very approachable.
Keep it up.
great show guys, I have to say it's probably one of the top 2 shows for me on Rev3....the other being CO-OP.
And both those shows are very original at doing sponsors.
Also I don't think either of them were created by Revision3 (I could be wrong but) I got the impression they were pitched to get on the site by the creators of show itself tell me it I'm wrong?
She was like "I got a man." and I was all like "Whatcha man got to do with me?!"
Also dude you have what looks like a wedding ring on in some shots, or is that just to try and stop that mass of fan girl mail, you poor man (envy :D)

It's not a wedding ring. Though I do already have me a lady friend. ;)

Love. This. Show.
Do you all write all of it, some of you write some of it, Or One guy write all of it?
I mean:
"felice-nada-mother-flippen-dad?"
Priceless.

I do all the writing. I might end up bringing in some more writers later down the road, but as of right now I handle all of it myself.

Well, then, the other two do a damn fine job of acting, cause they say the lines like they sprang from their own minds.

Seeing that most everyone has seen this episode, I'm going to list my favorite quotes.
"It was because of me and this sweet piece of tail right here" ----
"I got sex appeal"
"Our inboxes are more packed than Rush Limbaugh trying to fit into a prius" ---
"minicooper" --> "minicooper" ---> "minicooper"
I love this stuff, its just awesome, and the hosts pull it off so well.

I love this episode. It was full of more lines that I'll be repeating over and over at work. (Why do I feel like I said that before?)
The acting is amazing and the effects are spectacular. =) The blood look almost real. It seemed a bit too runny. Maybe add in a little thickener or something?
Anywho, I can't wait till next Thursday to see what ya'll have some up with next!

Thanks for the tip on Detonation Films. They had exactly what I needed for a project I was in the middle of when I watched episode 3. Not a muzzle flash, but needed some fire...

Videocopilot did a head explosion tutorial a long time ago that walks you through things a little more thoroughly.

I enjoy the bits of humor on here but would like to see longer more detailed episodes.

Hey, I was testing out a head explosion from ep two, and I don't believe they explained how to get the bloody head stump. How does one do that? Can one do it with only final cut?
