For the longest time I have had dual setup with Ubuntu and Windows. I never really used windows. The problem is which I egnored for awhile is that if I restart the computer from windows, and get to the grub and choose windows again, it gets to the loading screen and then restarts and does it again.

Usually, it does it 4 or so times but today it just wont load into windows. Linux works and so does safemode, but not normal windows.

Does anyone got any ideas? The only new difference today is a new monitor.

If the windows install is sp2 try holding down f8 after you select it in grub. Select disable automatic restarts. Now when it blue screens copy what it says here. How much free space is on the windows install? What did you partition it with?

I will try that when I get a chance tonight (family stuff right now). I formatted the drive with a boot disc i think, but its to different drive. Windows has at least 20 odd gigs left.

I will get back to you tonight.

I did that, and it restarted and the same thing happened. No blue screen, just restarted. Then I tryed again, just because, and now the windows loading screen dosen't even happen, it just stays black untill I hit the reset button on the computer.

WHAT IS GOING ON??

Oh they are on two differerent physical drives? Then check the connections on the windows drive. Also, did you switch the drives around on their ide chain?
