I just got a DS lite for Xmas, and after about 5 minutes of playing with it I noticed it had a stuck pixel (it's green). This is very annoying and I have read that many people have had the problem and you can send it to nintendo and they will fix it. Some people (including nintendo) said to just play with it for like a week and it should go away. I was just wondering what are the chances it will go away, and if it does what are the chances it will come back.

Any LCD screen has these issues ..best to just send it to Nintendo because I can promise it will be near impossible to exchange after christmas..things are sold out nationwide.

Don't wait that week..I bet it will still be there.

Stuck pixels rarely go away, even if you try to treat it. Return it ASAP, because as Ryudo said, they're nowhere to be found. My cousin bought the last one in a store she went to over a week ago.

I think I might have to end up sending it away now, I think I have had it longer then the store allows for me to take it back. I'm not sure though, and I really don't want to send it away.

Nintendo are really great about this problem. When i got my first DS at HMV (UK) it had one dead pixel. So we took it back to the store and the guy told us that changing a DS would be no problem as Nintendo has a really good policy of taking them back. He also told us that had it been a psp it would have needed more dead pixels before they would take it back. Getting this problem fixed should be fairly easy whether you return it to the store, or return it to Nintendo.

my first psp had 2 dead pixels, the ugly girl at ebgames told me it had to have like 10 or more, i told her to either take it back or id report the store to headquarters for poor customer satisfaction, needless to say she gladly took the thing back and exchanged for a new one (I had purchased it used 3 days prior from a different person at the same store, she ended up giving me a brand spankin new one :D) never had a problem since then... I originally found out you can either play a stuck video fixing video, or quickly flip solid color images (red green, blue, black, white, and some black white alternating ones) and i tried that, they were back the next day, thats when i took it back, i even kept the memory card from the first, and got an extra puch and stuff... Anyway, I would probably just send it away if i could do it over, just to make sure it didnt get pwned off to the next person through the store, and so that it could be properly fixed with a new screen from factory.

Yeah Nintendo has great customer service when it comes to these issues. I was lucky enough to have what seem to be the few not to of had a dead pixel.

Yeah if I can take it back to the store I am going to, I just really don't feel like having to send it away and not have it for a while. I do love everything else about my DS Lite so far though :)

Man, that's funny. I had a similar "trivial" problem with my 360(something common that stores will replace because the company will give them credit for the product) and when my mom and I tried to exchange it at Best Buy, the "Operations Manager" called my mom a liar and threatened to call the cops on us. Best Buy nearly ruined my Christmas 2 years in a row. And just to show how well she was doing her job, it turned out the original sales clerk had just made a mistake - which the manager took no time to listen to my mom and check to correct the problem.
