<self-promotion> I got invited to Nintendo's Wii Sports Resort launch party today. You can read my write-up here: http://tr.im/pK36 </self-promotion>
What's the general feeling on Wii Sports Resort? I'm more excited for MotionPlus than the game itself. I'm a bit over one-to-one sport games. When it gets that close to the real thing, you might as well just play the real thing. That goes for golf in particular. The fact that Wii Sports Resort has no online mode is a big turn-off for me.

I'm glad I did a search on wii resort before starting a new thread. I just bought this a couple of days ago, thought it would keep my niece entertained, and I got to say I'm digging it.
The flying game has become my favorite thing to do on my wii. I was surprised at how accurate the sword fighting game was. at what ever degree I swing it swings. It's really cool to play. The other games I don't care for to much although I haven't played them as much as the sword fighting and flying games.
Overall wii sports resort is a must get for you wii owners.

Best console game of 2009 without a doubt.
The amount of content in the package, coupled with the challenge in single player and the fun in multiplayer is unrivalled in my opinion.

I just got done playing the archery game...Amazing, simply amazing. I think my wii will be getting a little more love from me. On top of that I just downloaded majoras mask on the virtual console, although I've always wanted to play one of the custom skinned mods that have been floating around online for about a decade.
side note
Oh and do yourselves a favor and don't bother with the classic controller. That thing sucks. I like the feel of the gamecube controller way better. It's really annoying having the a and b button on top of each other when playing super Mario brothers, why consoles don't allow custom button settings is beyond me.

It does look like a fun game and I've been thinking about getting it. Good to hear all the positive feedback from members here.

Have you tried Link's CrossBow adventure? Not a lot of depth, but plenty of fun. When I bought it the game cost maybe $20 and included the crossbow attachment for the wiimote.

If I see it at the store I'll pick it up. I do love me some link. If it's anything like the gun attachment for resident evil umbrella corp on the wii then I'll bypass that part of the game. That gun attachment seamed so cool then I used it and it was a fail.

I haven't used the resident evil gun attachment, but looking at the pic online that gun looks heavier.
The one that comes with Link's Cross bow is pretty light. Similar idea though. Matter of preference but I like using the gun set up.

I've been wanting to play some Resort games mutliplayer since I got the game so I recently purchased the Black Wiimote that comes with WM+. To break in my new controller I played some of my favorite games from Resort.
Swordplay, frisbee, bowling all feel great. Airsports and Basketball don't feel like they really use WM+ but are still very fun. I love archery and table tennis. They feel so good and are a lot of fun.

I enjoy the Wii but I have to go with Dolson on that.
I played it and hated every bit of it but maybe it's because I detest the Wii series period.
Muramasa was awesome,Madworld,Klonoa,Nyxquest and many others from 2009 all 3rd party were much better and actual games.
But now as 2010 starts I have my GOTY contender already with NMH2.
The only Nintendo series that looks interesting is Metroid other M other than that back to the 3rd party lineup of more interesting looking games.

I have played it. I don't own it myself, and probably never will. In addition to several others on other platforms, NSMB Wii is way better.

To each his own. I also wouldn't put it as the best console game of last year, but it is a whole hell of a lot of fun. I was over at a buddy's house a few weeks back and brought the game with me, and when I suggested we play it there was no doubt that no one was interested, but they agreed to give it a shot. The rest of the night all we did was play that game, and the next day my buddy was buying his own copy.

Meh on Mario anymore for me personally.
I just can't bring myself to pay full price for Mario anymore...if used and cheap I will but Mario just does not do for me what it used to,not saying his games are bad just that I can't get the enjoyment from it like I used to.
I like Klonoa much more.

I bought super mario 64 on the virtual console. I get a kick out of punching gumbas in the face. I love to retro game. If it wasn't for Darksiders I'd be playing Majoras Mask all night long. Then I'd take breaks with ocarina of time because there are some parts towards the end where MM gets to frustrating to play.
