Media Drones is the name of our Podcast we're like a mixture of TRS, Diggnation, and Slash Film Cast. I'm aiming for a weekly show and one week we talk about games another week we talk about movies. I know we're nothing compared to the three I named I'm just doing it because I love movies and games, that every time I listen to those guys I wish I was in the conversation. Anyways we're very low budget. I just ask for some criticism and ideal on how we can improve it. Thanks in advance just for checking it either way.

Indeed, as scoobydiesel said, it's not bad, I've seen much worse. Could use work, but of course, what show couldn't? Just keep working on it, and making it better with every episode and it'll naturally get better the more you do it.

On a side note, is that a Rock Band microphone? It definitely looks like one :)

It's not bad at all. The sound quality is great.

I have several suggestions though. Instead of having the three of you guys sitting on a couch, stand up. There's a reason most American radio hosts stand up while they talk. It gives you more energy.

Your show doesn't have to be a video netcast. Unlike TRS, you don't have a green screen behind you guys. Besides, audio netcasts make the listeners concentrating to the vocals instead of the visuals.

The content is interesting. Keep it up. Subscribed! :)

The fact that it's quite raw is really cool. Anything with references to Arnold Schwarzenegger gets an instant subscribe in my book.

...every time I listen to those guys I wish I was in the conversation."

Oh man I have that with so many shows :D

Way to have the guts to launch a show in a fairly crowded space; I'm going to toss it on my iPod and give it a try tonight! As long as you're having fun I guess your quality will only shoot up from the first ep

Sorry about my last post. mixed the spots. here's the one for this thread.

Don't know ow much of a budget you have or the type of camera setup you have and I don't claim to be an expert but here are my suggestions for your show.

-Try losing the handheld mics, this is kinda hindering your discussion. I know lavs are expensive but they go a long way, even a single shotgun mic would give you decent sound. If you don't have money for any of that try using you handheld mics as shotgun mics. Raise the volume a little to compensate and place both mics facing you on a coffee table or chair in front of you.

-Introduce yourselves and the episode.

-When you post screenshots/photos on screen and they don't fit perfect use another layer under it to block you guys from view. A solid black layer would be ok.

-Don't be so shy. Get into it.

-Sign off

That's it for now. Keep it up.

For the blog:
Try not to capitalize every single word. Your professionalism needs to be reflected as soon as your viewer comes to your blog.

For your videos:
I love the intro. That looks quality. I think that it lacks structure. There's no clear beginning, middle or end. Adding a quick blurb about the show at the beginning, credits at the end, or a summary of what the show is about, I think that would add lots of value to the 'cast. And lastly, try to balance your audio at least a little. I found myself going for the volume control frequently to adjust what should be taken care of in post-production.

In short, you guys have an interesting cast and I think there's an audience for what you're producing. Put a tinsy bit more effort into making it professional and I think you'll be in serious business :).

We're coming back!
After 9 months of Hiatus we’re coming back.

FAQ

Alex, Why we’re you guys gone for so long?

Well mostly because of school and personal projects but, I do have a surprise for you.

We have a new format! That will be more organized but, we’ll have less new content. We won’t review a new movie each week (Too Expensive… No more Press Screenings for us).

Just to give you guys a heads up on whats to come.

Next Week: Inception Review and Ending Discussion

8/3/10: Breaking Bad Season 3 Finale Discussion

Spartacus Blood and Sand Review and Season 1 Finale Discussion

We might do a Comic Book discussion. X-Men #1, Thor Almighty Avenger #1, The Atom #1, World War Hulks: Spider-man vs Thor.

Sorry for that one fan we had. I Hope this will make it up to you.

- Alex
