I just got my first ever Mac!!!! It's a Macbook Pro. Problem: Every time I put the computer to sleep (Close the lid) after it wakes up I get a message that says, "An error occurred while trying to join..." Then the only way to get back onto the internet is to enter "Network preferences", click "Assist me..." and then go through, "Diagnostics".
Please help! I'll try to answer any questions and give information as needed.
Thanks.

Under the Network System Preference check your selected Options. Is "Disconnect from Wireless Networks when I log out" is checked off? If yes, uncheck it.

I found a lot of posts online about it but no solutions. Finally said, "screw it" and bought a new router. Fixed the problem.

Thats one way to do it. When things break that what I always think of first... buy a new one of something.
