For the uninformed, Dead Fantasy is series of fan-made 3D animation created by Monty Oum. It features the girls from the Final Fantasy and Dead or Alive series duking it out in a no holds barred, over-the-top action.

Definitely not as over the top as either the first or second Dead Fantasy installments. I can understand that it would be pretty difficult, if not impossible to top Dead Fantasy 2, but it almost seems like he didn't even try. I think he's kinda dug himself into a hole he can't get himself out of. In fact I remember hearing that he had super huge plans for the next few "episodes", and later on he admitted that they were too elaborate and would take forever to create so he had to scale back by quite a lot. I think it shows in this one. Never the less, this is far more than anything I could ever hope to achieve, I just hope he is still making them out of a passion for the series, and having fun, and not just because people are expecting him to do it. The series will ultimately suffer and stain our wonderful memories of the first two.

Here's to hoping the next couple are successful endeavors.

Dead Fantasy 2 was great at the beginning but got a little iffy towards the end. The triple-team with the use of the Stop spell was just ace.

Dead Fantasy 3 may not have the length and scale of the previous two, but I think it has better choreography. And yes, for a non-profit work of art, this is a rare and wonderful gem.
