View Full Version : I don't think "inevitable" means what Alex thinks it means

At the end of his reviews Alex keeps saying things like "inevitably I enjoyed it", using the word "inevitable" as substitution for ultimately. Inevitable means something is sure to happen, and I don't think he means that him liking the game or movie is unavoidable. Does anyone else keep noticing this?

or he means that at the end of the day he was going to like it, no matter what. which then i think it can be used. Other than that i really don't care lol I know what he was trying to say.

I never noticed that. The thing I DO keep noticing is Alex's EXTREME overuse (and occasional misuse) of the word "literally." Most of the time, he doesn't misuse it, but he definitely uses it unnecessarily. I think "literally" is becoming the new "like."
"Literally," every time he says it, I can't help but think of David Cross talking about it in his standup.

But really, with that said, at the end of the day, like, inevitably, I just loved this so much but this isn't a great thread by any stretch of the imagination.
