Is there a way to get all the Itunes files in the default folder where they should be? Also, how do I prevent any duplicate songs in Itunes?

Just go under your preferences > advance and check "copy files to itunes music folder when adding to library" then drag the files to Itunes.

As for multiple songs I can only think you have the songs saved in the default folder and another folder so you are getting two of the same song.

How are you adding the files to iTunes?

I used an external hard drive (USB) to copy the files over to my Mac. I will do what you said and let you know if it works. Thanks for the reply!

If you've added them already, only tracks added since you made the setting change will be copied over. What you need to do is to Consolidate the library. If your music is still residing on the USB drive and the iTunes library is set to the default location, the Consolidate Library option should be available. This will copy your USB-drive music over to the iTunes music location.

Duplicate songs - there is a Show Duplicates option, but it can be kind of useless if you have a whole bunch of dupes. Dupin (http://dougscripts.com/itunes/itinfo/dupin.php) ($15) is however very effective.
