Hi,

When I close Firefox v3.5, either having read the last new post in a thread or use the forum tool to "Mark This Forum Read", upon restarting Firefox some of these previously read threads are now marked as having "New" posts.

Anyone else have the problem of the forum not correctly remembering read/unread post status between browser restarts?

Closed Firefox, restarted Firefox and out of all the tabs which had a forum page loaded... only the Rev3 forums were screwed up. Seems to think that it's July 14th, so everything from there forward is marked new.

Any word when this problem might be fixed?

Try clearing your cookies?

Thanks, I'll try that, but I'll delete only the Rev3 cookies as I don't see what good it would do deleting everything for a Rev3 issue. At the time I had 7 tabs open that had forums from around the planet and they all remembered correctly through the Firefox restart the last read status.

Try clearing your cookies?

I cleared the Revision3.com cookies yesterday. Today I figured it was time to reboot the computer. Closed Firefox without issue. Rebooted computer without issue. After the reboot I started Firefox without issue. My Rev3 tabs reappeared without issue. I went to the first Rev3 tab and hit the refresh button and all posts going back to July are marked as NEW. :(

Out of all the sites I visit, Revision3 seems to be the only one that causes problems for Firefox. Can't correctly store visited dates in the forum. Can't save changes in the Control Panel. Can't play an embedded video without crashing.

And, the really weird part is that these problems only happen at Revision3. The other tabs which had open forums all worked without hoops after the restart.

Having similar issues. Most times I end up logged out, even though I specify "Remember Me". When I log in, The "Last Visit" is dated several days to a couple of weeks ago. All posts since are marked new.
On the rare occasion that it doesn't log me out, I still get the "Last Visit" issue.
I've cleared cookies several times trying to find a remedy.

It's clearly not a cookie issue. It's a site issue and there doesn't seem to be anyone able to fix it.

I also have this problem. I actually came to this forum to report this issue. Interesting in that I haven't visited this particular forum on this site yet everything July 14 and older is marked read...

I also remember similar issues in the past (older versions of FireFox) but never bothered to do the research to characterize the issue. Seems to me to be a long standing issue with Firefox. I suppose I could configure IETab to catch Revision3 pages, but that wouldn't help Linux users out there... (And it is a bit of an unnecessary kludge for only 1 site.)

Well, it seems to have been cleared up. No response from the admins that they found a bug and fixed it (or applied a patch) in this thread. I'm hoping proactive action fixed this problem so it won't return instead of the problem fixing itself where it might return.

Anyone else in this thread able to report proper read message functionality, or is it just me?

I think you are right, it does appear to be fixed. I just had a couple of Add-ons updates and when Firefox restarted, the post counts are the same as before the restart. Thanks mystery person or persons for fixing the Read/UnRead post status problem.

P.S. Haven't seen TeamAMIGA used in years. :)

Repaired? Maybe, maybe not. I just closed Firefox and restarted it and now all posts going back to Aug 25th are all marked as having new posts. That didn't last long. :(
