I've read and been told that Componant video is capable of displaying 1080p resolutions (except converts from analogue to digital on HD tv's), and that according to the specs having a HDMI connection is not any better resolution wise.

I'm writing this post because I know that a lot of you out there are TV gurus and i'd love to hear what you have to say on the subject. Myself, i have to say that i've definantly noticed the difference in quality that HDMI brings to the table, and i've had this arguement with people that have read that it won't bring better resolution to HD tv's.....i've read about it but I can't really bring hard facts to the table conclusivly when trying to have an intelligent discussion about this with people that do not share my viewpoint. What are your opinions on this and why? thanks for reading

p.s. love the new show

True that the resolution is no better. HdmI wins because it's one less conversion that has to be made. Hdmi also has the audio in the same wire.

Resolution isn't the only factor of picture quality. You can still have two identical resolutions, one looking better than the other.
