Hello Guys,

You guys need to do an episode on building your own HTPC. I am currently trying to build one but it seems very difficult to get up to the minute information on what is and isn't necessary. I would love to build it so it can do 1080p content and some mid level gaming. Any advice?

Thanks,

Josh

Engadget just did a perfect write-up for you, sub $1000 HTPC that supports blu ray:

Its super easy to build a cheap 1080p capable box these days, almost to the point where you can do it accidentally...

In fact almost any PC can be connected to one of today's HDTVs and if it happens to be running XP, VISTA, or Win7, it will run Media Center , so you don't need anything more than cables and you have a HTPC. However some PCs do a better job than others, so like mr_lore said check out the many HTPC builds already out there.
