SDCC 09 Coverage

Thanks for this! Planning on making Comic Con in some years to come. Does anyone have advice on bringing a baby/young child to comic con? She will be born in November but we plan to bring her when we go to Comic con in the future. We might get a taste of how to handle it when we go to Star Wars weekend next year. Haha.

Go slow.. get a hotel near the convention center so you can go back to take breaks and let the little one nap without the buzz of the con all around. Take turns adventuring solo to the con...

There were quite a few little ones at the con this year. Strollers, baby slings backpacks.. (it would have been awesome if one of the parents dressed their baby as yoda and threw them in a backpack.. hrmm..) Despite the crowd, everyone seemed terribly respectful of the kids/strollers and whatnot.

That's good to hear about the respectful crowd this year. We would definitely have to do it with taking breaks so it's not too much on her. We already talked about dressing her up as Yoda. My girlfriend disagrees saying that she isn't a boy. She will obviously be a little Leia at some point but while she is little I don't see harm in her being a little Yoda. I could always dress her up as Yaddle, I guess. We are just thinking there may be a time in the future where our daughter will resent us if we didn't take her with us and she later finds out we were at comic con.

One way or another, we wont risk our future health and bring her to any amazing events we go to in the future. (Star Wars Weekend, Comic Con, etc.)
