In IE6 you could put C: on the address line and hit enter and it would then bring up windows explorer in the same window, however in IE7 it opens up a new window for My Computer.

I've gone through and checked all the settings for reuse shortcuts, open in same tab, and various other settings. Does any one know how to stop IE7 from doing this?

The reason behind needing the functionality is that sometimes my camera will not be detected in My Computer or explorer but for some reason opening the C: from IE6 and then going up a level to show all the attached drives brings it back. Killing explorer.exe and letting it reload doesn't fix the issue nor does unplugging and plugging the camera back in. Changing the camera from USB Device to Camera isn't a good solution either because I need it to be on USB Device.

Also, using winxp sp2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

IE7/8 are no longer as tightly integrated in to Windows as IE6 was(/is).

Heh, that I know. Just wish there were a way to retain that functionality. :(
