I'm trying to figure out if the common problems I have with my iPhone is just on my iPhone, or if they are widespread. I don't see too much discussion about these particular problems, but this is my second iPhone (first one turned out to be defective, but the problem was not related) and the problems have happened with both. I have a 2G iPhone (2G meaning EDGE, not 2nd generation).
1. Sometimes the phone just doesn't ring (or vibrate). I have very good service, but sometimes it won't ring and the missed call won't even show up until a few seconds after I unlock my phone and start doing things. It seems to have nothing to do with whether my phone is on ring/vibrate and seems to be a random, but often thing. I also want to point out that this is NOT the phone just thinking that the headphones are plugged in because I am aware of that.
2. New voicemail sometimes takes up to an hour to show up. I assume this is just AT&T being themselves with horrible service.
3. Clock is often wrong. I know the phone is set to receive the time from AT&T and it does do that, but sometimes it can be up to 20 minutes fast/slow.
4. Like the voicemail, text messages sometimes take up to an hour after they were sent to get to my phone. I assume this is also an AT&T thing...
Anyone else having these problems? If so do they exist on 3G/3GS or is it just a 2G thing? And no, I will not upgrade my phone because I like the aluminum better than the plastic and the fact that the original is thinner than the 3G/3GS :D.
