Just watching the season opener for SNL, and Dane Cook is hosting... I'm trying my best to understand why anyone would find this man funny.

Just wanted to make sure we had a Dane Cook sucks thread on the new boards.

yeah, I have a friend that, if you don't laugh at his joke the first time, just keeps repeating the punchline till you do. I laugh the same way at dane cook as I do at him.

I think when you see him do his comedy routing in person, versus just audibly, he really sucks.

I don't know where I heard this. More than likely on the old Dane Cook *****fest on the forum here, but it was how they describe his comedy as getting up on stage and jiggling keys on stage...that is pretty much is how I feel.

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon. Dane is an entertaining guy with an original stage presense and I like most of his routine. The only thing I've ever really found annoying about his career was when everyone couldn't stop talking about how great he was and now how everyone can't stop talking about how much he sucks. The guy didn't change in my eyes just because the world is kicking him off the pedestal they once put him on. And yes Employee of the Month by concept and casting alone is a peice of shit film, the trailers had nothing redeeming in them that'll make anyone over the age of 15 with good taste want to go see this movie.

He bombed on SNL, but that's not his fault. I mean, come on, it's SNL. A couple weeks ago Comedy Central replayed the Insomniac Tour late at night (so it was uncensored), and maybe it was a high from little sleep or something, but I thought he was pretty funny. Not as funny as Dave Attell, but not as bad as I thought he was.

His monologue was 100% retarded, it was like his target audience was supposed to be about 8 to 10. He was fine in the rest of the show though I thought. He didn't really seem to add anything to any of the skits he was in was all... nothing a regular couldn't of done better.

Yeah, I watched the SNL ep the other night too and wasn't impressed in the least bit. I can't stand the douche, yet I own several of his CDs, because in my opinion he's genuinely funny when he's in his element in front of an audience (and i'm not talking about that censored shit on comedy central). If you only ever come in contact with him on tv I can get where you're coming from because he's got no personality and just rattles off his stand-up in interviews. In fact, his biggest problem right now is being overly-popular and not having the personality to handle it, his one dimensionality leads to him repeating the same shit over and over on everything he's on. He's not the greatest, but I don't think he's as bad as you're making him out to be on here.

Normally I would just say that I don’t like Dane cook, but he is doing he thing so I don’t really care just not my cup of tea like any other stand up I don’t like but the fact that he is a joke thief http://www.redban.com/blogy/?p=51 makes me ****ing hate him, and more so since he stole from one of the best
