A thread for the above mentioned.

I'll start of with some praise. I am really enjoying the show. I love the length and the fact that it's 3 times per week. The info is good and to the point. The graphics are good. The black background is perfect. It's funny because my phone is from the stone age... all it does it make calls and send/receive text only messages -- yet I still watch and enjoy the show.

Keep it up.

I'm enjoying it too. I'm an iPhone user, and I think a lot of us are wondering what the grass is like on other platforms now. Seeing the level of integration possible on android with apps like google voice is really eye-opening.

I don't want to be a sore loser but I feel that show is based on Iphone users only. Just a little heads up Rev3, not all of us own Iphones.:(

Would be nice if the show actually talked about other phones then iPhones and android and blackberry....There are a lot of others..better ones.

Well to be fair, those are the three most dominant smartphones in the US market. It might not be the case in Europe and Asia, but Revision3 is done in the US so it's understandable.

And honestly, it's a show about apps not phones. If there's interesting software for Nokia, Samsung, etc. other phones, I'm sure they'll cover those if you suggest.

I was really glad they mentioned this on Tekzilla, I had no idea they'd released a new show that was specifically for mobile apps. I thought that was a really cool idea. Especially since I got an iPhone a week ago and I'm dying to see what kind of cool apps I can get for it. I've been a Nokia user for years and only now moved from my Nokia E61i to a iPhone 3GS, so this show is perfect to showcase what's out there in the mobile app world.

I say two thumbs up. I'd give more but I only got two ;)

You have to swallow the the idea that the show is not about phones but about phone apps. Only those smart phone platforms with rich application libraries are going to be well represented.

...and some android to call it deversity.

...yes the show is made in the US, and apparently there are no real Nokia phones and Sony-Ericsson phones released there. Seems like its only the basemodels.. . but I could be wrong of course ... after all dont live there.
...just sux that there is yet another show not worth watching. . and the once that where are beeing put out to pasture one after the other ...

...I enjoy to watch the shows to discovery new things I've might have missed .. suggesting apps i already know about .. eeem seems just pointless..

And yet you have also ignored the Blackberry episode.

Nokia N series phones are available in the US (though not very common).

At least you gave it a shot and maybe this show isn't for you. I think it's only pointless to you as a more advanced user (and non-iPhone user).

A lot of people are still in discovery mode or new users. We're here for all (including advanced users) -- but as I mentioned before, we will naturally be iPhone heavy. Thanks for trying anyways.

..yes I guess not .
Unfortunally there are not many show left that seem to be. .. sad but true.

Tnaks for replying though. :o)

Just my 1-bit, I love the show and I don't own an iPhone. My smart phone is a Blackberry and I don't plan on replacing it soon unless Verizon picks up iPhone. However, I do have an iPod touch.

i like learning about the app's out there. I do not have a smart phone but I do have an ipod touch. I have tried some of the app's on it and like it. Keep up the good work.

Like the show but it does seem pretty heavily slanted towards the iphone. Not really surprising that would happen though given how popular it is and the amount of apps on it. But for a show about apps and not iphone specifically, it doesn't seem too balanced.

out of 13 episodes 9 are about the iphone, 3 android, 1 blackberry

personally dont touch a gadget that is white, used by celebrities to make me buy the same thing, and starts with an i. But thats just me. I prefer diffrent types of fruit.

i buy stuff that I think is useful, and innovative, not something that i "have to have because celebrity x has one. And no, i dont think putting a touch screen on a phone or an mp3 player makes it innovative. neither is selling it with white headphones.

but each to their own i guess.

So you're OK with the black iPhone?

Celebrity endorsement is not a big selling point, and I have always maintained that the iPhone is not a revolutinary device, but an evolutionary device - all its features (DNA) can be found in other brands. There is nothing unique about what Apple has done.

With one exception.

They have wrapped the iPhone in some stunningly good ID.

OK, two exceptions.

Then they marketed the crap out of it to turn it into a desirable meme.

ID and marketing are two things that other companies will have a hard time bringing to the table with equal success.

Blackberry is entrenched, and the incumbent is hard to dislodge.
Nokia might rule the Euro market ... but they stagnated and rested on their laurels for too long.
Android is doomed to the hackers shelves and wont get the market penetration is deserves.
WinMo needs a complete overhaul to become competitive again.
Palm <sniff> pioneered the SmartPhone concept, but is not "cool" enough to survive.

Apple will get replaced by a much cooler meme at some point, but I can't see it happening anytime soon.
