at least it's not the blackberry Storm.. I used that for about 30 minutes before i was done with it. It sucked badI went from a 7130e to a Storm. Out of the box the Storm was terrible, but the firmware updates fixed it pretty quickly. Unfortunately, the experience people have with the Storm is generally instore (where they dont update the firmware), or on a phone that has not been updated.
Overall, with a firmware update, the Storm is a great device - but even if it is as capable as the 2nd Gen iPhone (and it runs at speed greater than the 3GS - nationwide and not just in metro areas), software for it is still geared towards thumb keyboards, and scroll wheel/track ball interfaces ... and that doesn't always work so good.
Unfortunately my Storm is sitting idle on my desk now. We standardised our carriers internally at work, and I have been moved from Verizon to Sprint - so couldn' retain my Storm. I am now using the new Tour ... which is an amazingly good phone.

I obtained an app pack of like 30 applications, the only ones that worked well were the themes. Everything else failed miserably. The only app that survived was a unit converter. With so many different models of the blackberry and RIM's disregard toward developer effort, applications for the blackberry are not only hard to make, but also scarce.
I wonder what they will pull off.

What Token said. I had to be patient for a little while, but I finally have the firmware on my Storm I'm happy with. It doesn't have all the bugs the Storm has at the Verizon store. Granted, Verizion has yet to release an official firmware update since I got the phone but you can VERY easily get them online.
Im convinced these "leaks" from RIM are really updates to keep the Storm owners happy. The 4.0.148 software is great.

You should review PodTrapper for blackberry.
It is the only podcasting software for the Blackberry that can also do video podcasts... yup. I use it to watch ALL of my revision3 shows.
If you need help with it please feel free to contact me. You can buy it from the Blackberry app store or visit their web site.

The developer is really friendly and I'm sure he'd give you a review license to be on the show.
Here are some of the features as listed on the site;
# Automatic downloading of new episodes via Wifi
# Automatic downloading of new episodes via Cell network (On most carriers)
# Downloads via desktop application for those without Wifi or with difficult carriers (I use this because it's FAST!)
# Keeps track of last played podcast
# Remembers where you left off in every episode (You can half watch all your shows, i.e. flip channels, and it knows where you left off! That's better than the BB Media player!)
# Automatic playlist sorting and management
# Automatic deletion after listening
# Built in podcast browser (they keep a very good list for adding new content)
# Reliable pause and resume of downloads when connectivity changes (Never see any breaks of bad media errors)
# Built in keylock to allow for control of audio in your pocket (This is perfect)
# It Just Works, mostly (some minor issues with the video playback. Try the beta if you are having issues)

Couldn't agree more. I just got the Tour recently, and I am very pleased with it.

I just got the Tour and I love it. I just wish that the Storm did not have that many bugs to it. The new version of the Storm is loads better. I just wish that App judgement would show some more Blackberry apps. It seems like all where seeing is iPhone love.

I had to switch from the Storm to a Tour as my company consolidated its cellphone plans ... and I had to move from Verizon to Sprint.
The Storm - with the latest and greatest firmware (courtesy of certain online sites with leaked updates) is a better phone than the Tour. The thing that really annoys me about the tour the most is the trackball. Vertical scrolling is fine, but mine has issues with horizontal scrolling.

I have yet to have track ball issues with my Tour. I'm look forward to the new track pad that all Blackberrys will have.

I think it would be great to compare the Blackberry default browser and Opera Mini.

Are you using the infamous 'green dot' version of the Tour, or is that for Verizon only?

^agreed! + Bolt Browser, which i personally really like.

Opera Mini is a good program. They should also do one on slacker radio vs Pandora.
