I have a computer with 4 IDE and 2 SATA drives. Out of the 4 IDE drives, only one is used consistently. The other 3 IDE drives sit idle for most of the day. 1 is used for podcast (Once every 12 hrs). another for Backup (which only occurs once a nite) .
I know windows XP has a "Turn off HDD after # minutes" option in its power settings. Does this apply to individual drives? or to the whole computer. (Like the screen saver, the computer needs to be dormant for 'said' amount of time before it will kick in.)
Is there an internal setting of Windows XP to turn down or off selected HDD after 'said' amount of time of inactivity, or could you suggest any software that could accomplish this.
Thanks
