I am thinking of updating my 20" WS monitor to either one 26 inch or two 24 inch monitors (with the stand they are approximately the same price). I have a widescreen Wacom tablet and do some Photoshop work and sometimes watch HD DVDs and Blu-Rays. I like the ability with two monitors to put the tools on one monitor and the main image on the other - but unsure how that works with mapping the Wacom and also concerned what would happen to the other monitor when watching a movie... Surely someone here has made this choice? Please advise, thanks, Mike

I'm currently using two monitors and as far as tablets go, you can map to specific screens as you please (or use both screens). You can even cut it so if you don't want to use all the space of the tablet or the two screens, it's adjustable. When watching a movie, it'll pretty much stick to one monitor when in fullscreen.

I'd say if you have the space, go dual screen. Love that I have a screen for reference pictures if I'm Photoshopping or website for essay writing, or just to have iTunes open and ready.

Once you go dual monitor, you'll never go back.

Once you go dual monitor, you'll never go back.Agree. Even to the point that I have two laptops on my desk (Macbook and a HP), and a single monitor shared between them via a KVM. Each laptop runs in dual screen mode with the shared monitor as their primary screen.

If you have room for 2 large monitors - go for it, but a large primary workspace and a smaller secondary screen for pallets, tools, etc., also works, so it might even be worthwhile getting the 26" screen, and adding in a standard res (4:3 aspect) 19" in portrait mode (relatively cheap to buy these days) to hold your tools.

davmoo and tokenuser have it right on the money, dual monitors are the best! Make sure you have the latest control center downloaded for your graphics card as it is a lot easier to manage movies and doing layouts for particular tasks. I'm definitely with davmoo on going for the big one for creation and media, and keeping the old one for task management.
