Almost makes me want to wait before acquiring any home theater equipment. Who is going to sue who next. Will that expensive equipment be rendered obsolete.

As a big TiVo fan, I was *VERY* disappointed when I read about that yesterday. As pleased as I am with my TiVo boxes (although I am looking at going a different direction because TiVo doesn't seem to want to produce a HD box that supports an external satellite receiver), they really haven't innovated anything in several years. And news like this makes me immediately think of the term "patent troll".

I'll say the same thing I said when SCO first started suing everyone. Those who can, innovate. Those who can't, litigate.

Oh boo hoo, we want to be the only ones making something so we don't have to work hard to compete. That is exactly what is going on here. TiVo is losing money because other companies have DVR's. Hey TiVo, you listening..... MAKE A BETTER PRODUCT AND YOU WONT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT!!!

Tivo has been sueing companies for years. This is why I refuse to get their service in favor of WMC boxes and the provided boxes from my Cable/Satelite provider.
