Saw this and thought of Tekzilla.
Windows 7 has an API for controlling monitor brightness. A developer in Germany figured out how to make a web cam act as an ambient light detector for a workstation.
Many new laptops have this feature, but desktops do not. It would be interesting to use my web cam to duplicate this functionality on my triple monitor workstation.
