My gut reaction is negative, but that may be unfair.
Thoughts?

Not, not, not Good!!!!
Uh, I just don't have good feelings about this.
I hope they've fixed some creative control for themselves into the deal.
To be clear, I'm not anti-Disney, but they have scrwed up some of the thngs they've bought. Like the Muppets.

I'm not sure how to react...I mean Warner Bros. owns DC and they still make around the same calibre of books. As long as Disney doesn't make any radical changes or restrict content somehow, then I'm sound like a pound.

Yeah, at first I was like, "Well f#$%."
But that said, it depends how they do it. If they keep the talent and leave creative control with the current staff, then okay, but if they try to control things, that's bad news.
Oi. I'm afraid. iFanboys, get us the scoop!
Go check out http://twitter.com/wood83, Jason is dropping some serious knowledge

This is most certainly going to be bad news for BOOM! Studios. I guess we'll have to wait and see what (if anything) this means for the Marvel lineup.

I wonder if this means that Disney is going to big up the characters in their Orlando parks and what it means for Universals Islands of Adventure which is pretty much Marvel based (Hulk, Spiderman, Dr Doom rides etc)
On a creative side I doubt it will make much of a difference. Pixar was bought by Disney and hasn't really changed it's standard.
From what I've perused on the Internet, it seems like Marvel as we know it is still going to exist. The only thing Disney seems to want to do is handle Marvel's movie studio (in the distant future) and be able to market the Marvel characters at their theme parks, in stores, etc. This is probably going to have no real effect on the comics themselves, but more the ancillary parts of Marvel. The articles I've seen seem to indicate that Disney wants to be hands off with the company...much like they are with Pixar.
The relationship seems more symbiotic than anything else.

I may actually have a reason to go into the Disney Store now...

I can see great things from this like a Fantastic Four Pixar movie or a whole channel of Marvel Animation (oh wait thats called Disney XD). But I can also see the things that people worry about like what happened to the Justice League book or the new ABC Family show The Strange Family starring DR. Strange. If this deal is truly hands off I will be ok.
Edit: I just found this article (http://tv.ign.com/articles/102/1020699p1.html) that states Sony no longer has the TV rights to Spider-Man which means Sony is not going to make Spectacular Spider-Man. Disney/Marvel will have to.

I thought this PennyArcade strip was the best related comic I've seen yet.
