Thanks for posting this, Travis. Lots of us miss his shows if we only know Brian from scamschool and/or BBliveshow.

So, I'm gonna try to see him this saturday at Geneseo. But I need more details. Time, actual site of the show, (link to googlemaps?), tweetups, Best bar for Guinness after the show, etc...

Also, Brian, If you need a ride from Rochester airport to Geneseo, let me know. Wanna sing Mr. Roboto with ya. LOL.

Damn, I'll be out of town for the Lancaster, PA show. But my sister-in-law lives up in Williamsport. I may have to make a point of visiting her October 23. Any additional information about time, venue, etc. would be awesome.

I missed the last tour when he actually came to my town. I plan on going to the show in Kennesaw. Brian you should do a meet up in that area. There's a lot of bars in that town.

Where might you be? You should come visit Holiday Valley in Ellicottville NY on your way to Erie. If not, please let me know if you got a gig.

Went to the UNR Student Union today to speak with Casey Stiteler, the Director of Programming, to try to convince him to book Brushwood for a show. I had never been in this building before and I was very nervous to cold call someone in person. I ran up two flights of stairs and walked up to the desk at the student government office where I stood at the counter for a good 30 seconds before clearing my throat to get the secretary a foot away to notice my existence. When I told her that I was there to talk to the Director of Programming to book a magician she glanced at me with a look on her face like I was a total moron. The directors were in a meeting so I just left my number, took a card, and left. When/if I get a call to meet I need to put on my salesman persona so I don't get so nervous.

So if you want to see Brian in Reno, NV, call Casey Stiteler at (775)784-6589.

Hey, guess what! My buddy used to be a senator and he knows Casey very well. Turns out Shwood might be coming to Reno after all!!

it's confirmed.

Well I sent an email to the student activities to see if nonstudents are able to attend. If not I'm going to try to scam my way in.

I don't know how it works on most campuses but when I was in school I was in the Student Activities Council and was responsible for booking the magicians, comedians, and bands that came to campus.

When we had an event they were technically for the university students and staff only, but they rarely required a ticket, so all you had to go was get to the show about 15mins before the show and walk in with the crowd.

If it is an event that requires tickets you can always call the ticket office and see about buying a ticket even if it's only for students and faculty I'd be willing to bet if you talked to them and explained the situation they would have no problem letting you get into an event, if you are only wanting a ticket or 2 you will probably be able to find someone (or be able to tip some student at the ticket office enough to accidentally loose a few tickets that magically end up in your hand)...hell if it's a state school there is a chance you have probably technically paid for it.

If that doesn't work try setting up a Campus Tour for the afternoon of the event, let them know you are coming from out of town and have a hotel for the night, as the tour is nearing an end ask them if there is anything going on that night, they might hook a potential student up with some tickets and possibly dinner in the dining hall as well.

And if none of them work, go to the campus a few hours before the show, find some students and offer them to buy their tickets for the night, once you have a ticket they rarely check if you have a university id, and you would be amazed what you can get from most college kids for a few $ or a case of beer.

Hopefully this helps some of you scam your way into seeing the Scam Master General's show

Ah some good advice in there. :D

I did receive an email from someone in Student Activities and it said the event was free and open to the public. w00t!

Ah, beer, college currency. lol

I am definitely going but I have to con a few friends to make the drive fun.

Now to get my hands on a book for Brian to sign.

I'm not going to fall asleep now! haha

Is there any tour plans for Feb?

Me and a friend will try to get to San Francisco and go to MacworldExpo and it would be fun to see a show.
