I saw Ice Pirates, Master of the Flying Guiotine, Crank, Little Miss Sunshine, and The Upside of Anger. And I have to say Geekdrome has not let me down, b/c I thought they were all really enjoyable movies.

I went back and watched a bunch - van damme movies, wizard, gleaming the cube, explorers. I'm sure there are some theater movies I went and saw as well but can't think of. mostly, it's the comics I've bought bc of geekdrome.
Master of the Flying Guiotine
Damnit, now I'm going to have to see that movie. And since it's a martial arts movie, I'll probably end up buying it.

Only one I can think of off the top of my head is "Running Scared" as I was strolling through blockbuster and remembered freecajunlove reccomending it a previous thread.

"In the Bedroom"
"Devil's Backbone"
I've found that DannyT and Jonathan tend to really match my opinions. Rarely do I disagree with 'em.

I saw "Night Watch" based on the guys' discussion of it. I don't normally check out foreign films unless I hear something about them first.
On a side note, I already owned "The Devil's Backbone" before they mentioned it, so it was fun to hear them talk about it.

I sit in a parking lot at an indie movie theatre for work, so I get to watch a few DVDs at work every week. The boys have given me plenty of ideas since the spring for shit to watch:
Better Luck Tommorrow
Upside of Anger
The Bad News Bears
Ordinary People
Y Tu Mama Tambien
A Better Place
Last House on The Left
Devils Backbone
Billy Jack
Over The Edge
In The Bedroom
The Sandlot
Run Lola Run
Pirates of Penzance
A Little Princess
Mostly non-geek stuff, since I'm a geek's geek for the most part. In fact I think thats what I like most about the show, getting exposed to flicks and graphic novel/TPBs that I otherwise wouldn't have checked out.

Ice Pirates (how did I miss this shit growing up?)
Brick
Ong Bak
The Break Up (would have skipped. still sort of wish I had)
Art School Confidential (their review was spot on)
Gay By Dawn
Kickin' (dude, it's like.. epic)
Movies I feel that I don't remember hearing any mention of that should have been.. Cube, City of Lost Children, Delicatessin, They Live, Buckaroo Banzai, and the one movie I really want to hear their opinion about.. Tank Girl (I love that dumb ass movie for some reason)

Regarding Cube, They Live, Buckaroo Banzai, and Tank Girl... some of us were watching movies before Jon and Dan came along, thank you :D
However, if you meant you haven't heard J&D talk about any of those films, I distinctly remember "They Live" being discussed. Couldn't tell you where or when, but I remember thinking at the time that "these boys *do* know their shit".

There have been a few lesser know movies I've wanted to see (like Brick), but mainly have stayed away from movies panned on the Drome if I was on the fence. Mostly, I'm there to see most new releases regardless.

Oh, yes, definitely. I think I even hear that that wasn't Kurosawa's best.

I saw 8 Below because of Jon, regretfully. I do want to see Devils Backbone after that enthusiastic endorsment of Del Torro.

I remember them mentioning Ice Pirates and I was flipping through HBO and saw The Ice Storm so Im like cool a movie with the word Ice in it so I watched it, it was pretty cool about parents having sex and little kids having sex.

I saw Brick based on Dan's review and I have to agree that it was AWESOME.
There are probably more flicks that haven't been released yet that I want to see based on the reviews of the trailers like 13 Tzameti.

i know! i was like "how much awesome could be contained in one person if seven samurai isnt his best?" lol.
Also, i did read Jinx becuase of geekdrome...but that is of course a comic (graphic novel if your nitpicky [or should i be?])...should that be another topic? or an extension to this one perhaps?

I'm planning on seeing Accepted when its released in the UK on friday because of the Geekdrome review. I like Justin Long but thought it looked pretty bad, now I can't wait for it.

There are a lot of movies I’ve seen based on what I’ve heard on Geekdrome. The best would have to be Brick. I have always watched Ebert and Roeper and also scope the internet for non-mainstream movies. No matter what Geekdrome has a bigger influence.

I saw Brick and Art School Confidential. Was glad I heard the geekdrome review before Art School or I would have been quite unhappy much like the rest of the theater.
