If there's one character that I've really come out of Dark Reign with a new affection for, it's got to be the Hood. Between the Dark Reign - The Hood series and his storyline in New Avengers, I just really like his whole thing.

He's got that kind of personality and awareness where he could actually really run a syndicate of supervillains without going powermad and fucking himself over.

I also think he's probably the most likeable character in the Cabal.

Anyway, he's someone I hope stays a major antagonist in the Marvel universe for a long time.

He's been a great character ever since Bendis revived him in New Avengers. That arc (which is volume 8 in trades I believe) made me love that character. He's been around the Marvel U a bit too much for my liking (over exposing him) but he's a much better character to see then Osborn or Bullseye.

Ironically I never read the BKV origin that started the character in the first place.

you should. BKV does a great job on what could have been a good stand alone story. Them incorporating him into NA was awesome, and has really added way more depth to the character. It's good to see where he came from and how Dormammu has corrupted him over the years.

i liked how brubaker used him in daredevil, but i haven't read anything else he's been involved in.

I think I just have a hardon for villains that don't consider their henchmen expendible. I always find that ingratiating.

He's always "Yes, they may be weak and incompetant, but I'm going to break them out of prison anyway because they were loyal to me, so I'm going to be loyal to them."

I find it interesting that his name is Parker because in a way he's like this weird mirror image of Peter Parker. Whereas Peter had his wholesome upbringing and obtained this power and used it to become a hero that protects his community, the Hood grew up on the streets as a criminal and when he obtained his powers he used them to create a criminal organization that help and protects its members. It's like the most responsible way he could use his power while remaining true to his roots.

I'm really interested to find out what he's going to do now that he has the Stones.
