;) Reading through the current issue of Deadpool, my mind called back to an issue in Cable & Deadpool (#30 Just looked it up). Where Deadpool hunts the Great Lake Avengers. Comparing to some of the more recent stuff I have read, I really feel like Fabian Nicieza's writing in that series and his voice for that character where comedy gold. Every issue i read during the Civil war event was just hiliarious (from what i remeber). Another Writer with great timing is Greg Pak with, especially with Amadeus Cho. He was a really fun character in The Incredible Hulk, and has become one of my favorite characters. One I wish Marvel would do more with, although I understand why they dont. I am newer to the Marvel U, not really new to comics but I was hoping you guys could chime in on who your Fav writers are from a comedy stand point. And some characters.

It all depends on your type of sense of humor. I usually find Peter David pretty funny, especially his 90s X-Factor run with Madrox and Guido. Although I think Garth Ennis's Preacher is the funniest comic book ever written.

Garth Ennis' punisher? Bendis' spidey?

Peter David, Bendis, and Dan Slott. But what's really interesting about these guys is that, yes, they're funny, but they can also get deadly serious. In fact, it's their ability to tread the line between whimsy and tragedy so neatly that I admire about most them.

I also think Judd Winick is very funny and very good.

And Kevin Smith. But I'm still waiting for the second issue of that Daredevil mini to pass final judgement there.

What has Kevin Smith done comic side that is worth checking out? I have heard more bad then good when it comes to his stuff, but i am a fan of his movies.

Green Arrow: Quiver (http://www.amazon.com/Green-Arrow-Quiver-Book-1/dp/1563899655/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1252701478&sr=1-1)

Must-reads, as far as I'm concerned.

While I haven't read anything by him, I always here that his runs on Green Arrow and Daredevil are worthwhile. The rest of his comic output seems to be hit or miss.

His Daredevil run sometimes is forgotten due to it being pretty damn wordy (based on an iFanboy vid I've seen about the MAX line), and because there's been a lot of really "classic" runs on Daredevil (Miller, Brubaker, Bendis) that it gets passed up. Also you have to be tolerant of some religious themes in your comics if your gonna read his Daredevil.

I'd avoid the Black Cat stuff he did.

I agree. I think both of these were excellent.

And yeah, Dan Slott is funny! I recently re-read the first trade of his She-Hulk story and it made me laugh out loud. it was like superheroes meet Boston Legal. pretty awesome stuff.
