/waves, some of you might recognize me, been in #hak5 since the beginning of season 1
I don't understand why there is so much drama and ill feelings over the hak5 crew moving to another IRC server/channel (didn't that happen ages ago?) we've all known the #hak5 channel on mintirc has no real ties to hak5 anymore other than the name and the fact that we all originally met through the show.
I agree with Darren's motorcycle video, we've slowly but surely drifted apart, casting blame isn't exactly productive, the hak5 crew didn't have time for the IRC channel (on weekly production cycle that's more than understandable) and most of the people in the IRC stopped watching the show, or people came in that didn't watch the show in the first place, the community in that channel is no longer about the show, it's about what ever we feel like, it's a nice bunch of people, but it has nothing to do with the show, since I don't watch the show anymore I don't mind, but I can see the hak5 crew wanting a dedicated channel meant for the show, and I don't recent that, in fact I encourage it.
A long story somewhat shorter: Why the drama? It's clear the old channel isn't tied to the show anymore, formalizing that doesn't really change anything, it's a bit like getting a signed divorce sent to you from a partner you've been split up with for a year+, you should have expected it.
Wish you all the best. :)
