I am in no way a film maker but i love the show and all the insight into how these techniques are used, plus the guys are a "riot".
Well my issue i have is, i have a Canon PowerShot SD780 IS Point and Shoot camera and i use it alot for taking videos of my son. (Since it takes HD video) Now im making a little something to learn about video editing and started out making it in Sony Vegas 8.0 and i noticed the video i took with my Nikon and Olympus cameras i had before the Canon come out nice and smooth in the preview but the HD video i use is very choppy. Is this a common thing with Canon cameras or is there something i'm not doing right?
Also is there a way i can make the camera make the videos AVI instead of MOV, Or is that considered better for HD?
The only reason i did it in Vegas instead of AE cuz AE had some problems importing MP3 or AVI files, i forget which.. if anyone has any tips on that i'd be appreciative as well.
