We revel in the FMV cheesiness with Command and Conquer: Red Alert Commander's Challenge, get your picks for the best fighting game characters of all time, and drop as many F-bombs as humanly possible.

I liked the first episode.

The host seems very likable, the music is great, and the show is about cheap video games. I don't see how you can go wrong there. :D :D

-Host was not unbearable
-Short, yet informative, which is exactly what this kind of show needs to be.

Pretty good, I just hope the bleeping of swear words doesn't spread to other Rev3 shows.

Especially the new sit-com, as I'm REALLY looking foreward to it.

Hadn't seen the show yet, but I'm sure I'll like it, cause I'm already familar with Anthony Carboni. He was on AOTS once.

This is officially the show's 55th episode I believe, though this is the first episode for its transitition to Revision3.
Being a watcher of the show from the start, obviously I love the show and with this transition a few things have changed. There's a few flaws in these changes, but for the most part it's pretty neat, and as always the episode was entertaining.

I'm also fortunate enough to of been in quite a lot of the responses for the feedback section, which includes this episode with me answering 'Yoshi'.

This is pretty much the only show based on Indie video games, though. Amongst the indie gaming scene, this show is quite popular, unsurprisingly.

Tell that to TV... cable networks find it ok to let shit fly but wont go as far as the F-bomb (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for example, says shit all the time)

Censorship on TV is only around because it was established during a time of prudeness. That time is over and the internet is here. Don't make the same mistake. Censorship does not belong on the internet.

Loved it! Could do without the swear beep but it did add to the comic effect I guess :)

Keep it up, look forward to seeing the show grow.

Decent show, its good to see indie games featured.

p.s. Anthony is a G4 reject :D
Attack of the Show had a open casting call after co-host after Sarah Lane left and Anthony was one of the hopefuls. Unfortunately after a few weeks G4 canned the whole thing and hired Olivia Munn.

Congrats on getting picked up by Rev3! This show always deserved way more exposure than it was getting.

I love CO-OP, this I didn't so much ... I wasn't sure what they show was about for the first half (I went back and yes he did say indie games I missed it). Its kinda funny that we just saw some of the games reviewed on this weeks CO-OP from PAX. It was a good effort but It seems that now with TRS and CO-OP this is just an over lap of content and games.

PS. I didn't like the user cam footage and voice over ... it made the show look cheap.

First off, I was excited about the show when I saw the name and description, then I started and what's the first thing I saw? RA3 xpac.

a) How is that under radar? EA is huge and has lots of money, they can do their advertizing themself
b) There's a reason why RA3 didn't really sell good... Let's leave it at that.

So yea, I though this would be a show about fun/short indie games such as flash games, free downloadable games and mods. Which would of been amazing, since there's game reviews everywhere, but nothing for free underground indie games.

But like I see, the review was definitly for sponsors or something...

So yea, if you guys do mods, I've played almost every hl2 mods out there and here are some interesting ones:
best one by far would be Korsakovia which just game out.
http://www.moddb.com/mods/korsakovia
One of the best indie mods I've seen out there. It makes you feel things you've never felt before.

Other than that
Research & Developement: http://www.moddb.com/mods/research-and-development (mentionned on RPS)
Curse: http://www.moddb.com/mods/curse (was posted on RPS)
Perfect Stride: http://www.moddb.com/mods/perfect-stride-continuum
Radiator (1 & 2): http://www.moddb.com/mods/radiator1/downloads

Also, for indie flash games, Canabalt, Vox Populi Vox Dei are quite recent, but I'd have to say, my favorite from the past 1-2 month would be "This is the Olny Level". If we go back a little more though, Money Seize, I Wish I Were The Moon and Today I Die.

Finally, let's not forget about Jason Rohrer's games such as Passage and Gravitation.

Show looks pretty interesting though :)
Good job guys.

I'm pretty sure that they haven't ever done mods, but they should. The mods you mentioned are very good and deserve more of a showing than they get.

Also, they've done Canabalt, This is the Only Level, Money Seize and I Wish I were The Moon in past episodes. You can go on their website, click games and search for the ones you mentioned and it'll have a link to the show it's on. I'm not sure why they skipped "Today I die" though as that one is pretty prominent in the art games movement.

Also, they mostly do games that have come out in the past 2 weeks or so, so Jason Rohrer's games are kind of past that mark and I'm pretty sure most of the viewers of bytejacker before it was on revision3 would have heard about him and his games. I'm excited about Rohrer's new DS game that he's working on. I plan on picking that up in a heartbeat though it'll probably be a radical departure from his other works.

Anyway, as a longtime bytejacker viewer I'm glad they're finally getting some success for the show, though the commercials will bug me just a little bit. Congrats Anthony and John.

Good job guys.

First off: Thanks to EVERYONE for your comments and feedback, no matter what you thought. We're excited to be a part of Revision3, and we hope you grow to be as excited to have us here.

Regarding the C&C Coverage: You'll find we do that occasionally. Sometimes downloadable DOES mean 'big name.' I chose C&C this episode because for $10 it's a complex, in-depth strategy game that gives you a lot of bang for your buck. Celebrating indie and hating on mainstream are two things I've always found to be mutually exclusive; you don't have to do one to do the other.

As far as the games mentioned in the quoted post specifically, here are some of them in past episodes:

Canabalt: http://www.bytejacker.com/episodes/052
Vox Populi, Vox Dei: http://www.bytejacker.com/episodes/053
This is the Only Level: http://www.bytejacker.com/episodes/049
MoneySeize: http://www.bytejacker.com/episodes/044
I Wish I Were the Moon: http://www.bytejacker.com/episodes/12152008

Thanks again for the warm welcome, guys! You all rock!

Oh noes you gots corporate take over'd!

Having said that, I greatly enjoyed the production value in today's show and have been playing Time Fcuk for almost six hours.

Thoughts on the show and Revision 3: the transitions, while cool, didn't really do much for the show, Anthony's choice of attire today was inspired and inspiring, labeling where in the show free-indie-rapid-fire and all that stuff was was a nice touch, and "Ewww do I really sound like that?"

I have been watching bytejacker since episode 6 or something. It is good to see you getting some attention. I was pretty surprised to see all the commercials thrown in especially considering the show is only around 10 min long.

I really only watch it for the free indie rapid fire! lol

This looks like a great show. I'm always out looking for new indie games. Awesome!

Oh, and I probably wont have time to do an audio submission. Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime is by far one of my favorite levels of all time. The second you walk into that snowbound place, the peacefulness and tranquility of the area, matched with superb audio track make me just sit for 5 or 10 minutes just saying "wow". And the entire level was built around a polygon count that probably doesn't match the details in master chief's helmet. Who says you have to have high detail to tell a story?

I had forgotten about this area until I re-bought the Metroid Prime trilogy. Free advertising brought to you by an obvious Nintendo fanboy (They got to me in the 80's.. It's too late for me, now).

Here's a video of my beloved area (30 seconds in.. The guy runs around way too fast to get a really good view of the ambiance, but that's essentially what i'm talking about.):

I've always loved the old RTS games and I liked Red Alert even more than the main C&C series. RA2 was amazing. RA3 was not as good IMO but still a good game.

Anyway, anyone who thinks the acting is bad in RA3 should watch some of the scenes from Tiberium Sun. It's physically painful to watch. By comparison, the newer C&C titles have made leaps and bounds.

I have been watching bytejacker since episode 6 or something. It is good to see you getting some attention. I was pretty surprised to see all the commercials thrown in especially considering the show is only around 10 min long.

Revision 3 initially does this to every short show. The answer is usually just to make longer shows. On the flip side, being on Revision 3 is a massive load of publicity for bytejacker.

Great show. It has prompt me to check out some of the earlier episodes.

Good episode, I'll be interested to see it continue.

On Revision 3? There's only 2 including this one, right? Or do you mean on the internet?

Tell that to TV... cable networks find it ok to let shit fly but wont go as far as the F-bomb (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for example, says shit all the time)

Censorship on TV is only around because it was established during a time of prudeness. That time is over and the internet is here. Don't make the same mistake. Censorship does not belong on the internet.

To be honest I don't see why some cable networks censor swearing. The FCC can't dictate what cable networks do. I can see why a network like Nick does it. Because that's a network for kids but a network like Spike, a question mark comes over my head when I'm watching an action flick or TNA Impact and a swear is bleeped out.

Really good show. I like the host, he isn't boring. Your reviews are great too. You say everything someone wants to know before buying a game. You don't ramble about useless things.

I'm going to be a weekly watcher

Woah woah, I'm really sorry, I did a big mistake thinking it was your first episode (since it's the first on Rev3) and I totally forgot that there was previous episodes going on BEFORE joining revision3.

Well then, It's great to see interesting new shows like this join this place! I'll definitly will be checking this out every week :)

P.S.:
I know you don't do mods yet, but there's this new one that just came out called Hazard : The Journey of Life (http://www.demruth.com/hazard.htm) and it's UT3. All I have to say is... Wow, one of the greatest philosophical mods I ever played.

12mb and Very basic graphics, it's some kind of lesson of life + puzzle game.
It is a quite challenging, game, since I've played for around 2hours so far and I'm only half way through. I'd recommand not watching the whole trailer as there's alot of spoilers in it, but definitly worth trying.

Oh and the new "Higher!" flash game was pretty dece too.

So just out of curiosity, where do you guys usually discuss and suggest games? Do you have your own forum/chat over at bytejackers?

Used to be forums I believe, though it was wiped in favour for this forum.
However, those sorts of discussions usually pick up in the comments section of the episodes on the main site.

Over at our main site Bytejacker.com we have a suggestion form on the lower right side of the page where you can suggest games for review. You can also cast your votes there every week and leave audio/video comments. Like Toadsanime mentioned, most of our discussions took place in the comments section on our site. As for an actual FORUM though, this is it.

Thanks so much for the support! :)
