In the other thread where we were talking about this same exact thing. Why did you make a new thread?

http://apple.slashdot.org/story/09/09/28/2330229/Apple-Pushes-Unwanted-Software-To-PCs-Again?from=rssWow. Clueless. This is NOT a webserver for a phone (which is still a freaking stupid idea - no matter which thread it appears in). It is a about Apple pushing a configuration utility out to Windows users that was intended only for corporate clients. It is based upon an Apache Webserver engine that "dials home" for updates.
Fact 1: This is NOT OS X related - it is Windows related.
Fact 2: This is NOT for an iPhone.
Linux users must be even more fascinated by shiny things than the Apple fanboys - they have a hard time getting past 3rd grade reading comprehension.

duh.... I understand the details. but a rose is a rose is a rose. and a web server is a web server is a web server and an iphone is an apple device. Does it hurt to have to have your nose so high?

You obviously don't understand the details ... because this is not an iPhone web server.
And no, keeping your nose high keeps you away from the pricks (or thorns).

I do not think they know how to do Mental Gymnastics. If you can not talk about an apple product in an apple forum, I wonder where it is ok to talk about it. I guess they want to only talk about os/x. That seems so limiting since the two products will be use together so much. Maybe we could talk about the allegedly missing files with the latest osx.

The article you linked to was about Windows, not OSX. Sure, it was about Apple screwing up in its release updates, but it was not about iphones either (maybe tangentially, but that about it). OK, Apache was mentioned - a web server. Woo hoo. You can have a gold star. But 1+1 != 3.
