It's multiplayer meme-hem (ugh) as we check out Nihilistic Software's Zombie Apocalypse for 360 and PS3. We also get your opinions on the best game levels ever and Anthony proves just how uncoordinated he really is.

Surprised no one started this thread yet (or I couldn't find it?). Anyways I loved this episode. This is definitely a great show, keep up the awesome work!

Woah, zombie apocalypse definitly had great eyecandy, but it was pretty sad how badly it was trying to be like l4d. Tbh i did not see anything that wasn't somehow inspired by it. And considering L4D is 15$ right now, compared to 10$ for this... I this the choice would be quite obvious :)

Those were some pretty dece free indie games, gonna have to give it a try.

This week though, I played Bob's Game which I think was really well made and interesting, but i believe it's aimed at hardcore games because the minigames were insanely hard. Too bad it didn't have saving system, but my guess is because it's still a demo.

I also played Tasty Static, again, another hard game, but I really enjoyed it. The movements were somehow awkward at first but I then got used to it.

For the best character design, I'd say TF2, or the Nanosuit from crysis2.0 (http://www.shacknews.com/screenshots.x?gallery=12652&game_id=7578&id=139524#img139531)
Unless by design, you mean the actual history/characteristic behind the character. Then I would have to go for the 4 guys in Left 4 Dead.

P.S.: I'll probably send a vid/audio to actually try getting in the show :)

To be honest though, I don't see Zombie Apocalypse trying too hard to be Left 4 Dead. They're survivors killing hordes of zombies, it's multiplayer and you gain score. It's been done many, many times before L4D. The game more-so reminds me of the like of Destruction Carnival.

I didn't really think it bared much resemblance to L4D until I saw the character choices. All 4 of them are variations of the L4D cast.

Glad you guys liked this week.

Zombie apocalypse looks awsome. I can see how it would get old after a minute or two. I'm downloading it right now.

great show.

Oh, right, yeah I agree regarding the character thing I suppose.

Thanks dude!

Definitely try before you buy on this one. I love that most XBLA titles allow you to play the demo first. It's the best way to tell if you're gonna dig it. This game is by no means bad, just a little repetitive after a while. You be the judge. Tell me what you think.

Just spent a couple hours on zombie apocalypse. Did not get bored of it. I think the best point getter is to avoid grappling. that adds 500,000 points. Not dying adds 100,000. everything else combined doesnt even come close to topping these bonuses.

Awsome game. has a geometry wars feel to it.

I didn't want to get into listing... but:
- Like it's been said, character's are highly inspired on L4D
- Molotovs and Propane tanks
- Teddy Bears doing the EXACT same as the pipebomb
- Zombies and Special zombies (even has a vomiting zombie)
- Even the health bars on bottom reminds me of Versus in l4d

But then again, naming these things makes me realise that I've played left4dead a little too much ;). So it might just be me :x
