obviously they don't want you to change anything. try Ctrl+C to copy and Ctrl+V to paste.

Before you do anything else, you might just ask your IT people to put those things on the desktop for you. Otherwise, depending on your company's policies, they may right click or drag and drop your employment if you make changes without authorization.

 I'm having a hard time understanding your post. I'm not trying to be snarky or mean, but try reading your post out loud before hitting submit.

I think it's likely that your mouse is broken. I'm not saying your IT guy isn't a blazing idiot, but right-click and drag-and-drop are awfully strange things to disable. A broken mouse makes a lot more sense. You should probably ask your IT guy what's going on. Maybe there is a reason those features are disabled?

You can get a "my computer" icon on the desktop by going to Start->Control Panel->Appearance and Themes->Display, click the Desktop tab, then click the Customize Desktop button. Check the box next to My Computer.

Right-Click on "My Computer" and click "Show on Desktop".

xcorvis: They would have disabled the Control Panel for most users.

Nope - Asper his first post, right click disabled.

IF the keyboard has the "enhanced windows buttons", you might find that in addition to the "Windows" button, there is a "Menu" button. On my Logitech keyboard, that is located on the right hand side of the space bar in a sequence that goes [Alt][Windows][Menu][Ctrl]. Holding that down while you click on an icon with the regular left mouse button will open up the menu.

Now, if the IT folks have been smart, they will have actually implemented a system policy that restricts access to the menus, instead of disabling right-click on the mouse - and you will be SOL anyway.
