While homed on Bytejacker (and nothing else) this afternoon, I left my desk in the middle of an episode. IE decided to dump a couple little .exe files in my temp folder named
0.7765832012324557.exe and
0.6102445416265236.exe
I also happen to keep my hosts file open in a text editor, on my desktop, and noticed that it was warning me that someone had changed the file. In the bottom I found these lines added:
87.67.35.128 freemaill.ru
210.51.10.184 vkontakte.ru
210.51.10.184 odnoklassniki.ru
210.51.10.184 microsof.com
210.51.10.184 www.vkontakte.ru
210.51.10.184 vkontakte.ru
210.51.10.184 odnoklassniki.ru
210.51.10.182 microsoff.com
210.51.10.184 www.vkontakte.ru
210.51.10.182 hyandex.ru
Definitely some suspect banner ads happening on Revision3 or ByteJacker. Might want to get that checked out. BTW, I'm Sr. Network Engineer for a company and know how to keep clean from spyware and am very anal about what happens on my PC, so I am sure it came from this site. I am firewalled, so it didn't come anywhere else except thru IE while ByteJacker was up.
Keep us posted on what you find please.

Hi, guys - we're on it right now - this is the third time we've been attacked in as many months, and it's a tricky one to iron out. Do you have any details on the specific page that's serving the malware you could send to me?

Noticed the site was offline for a day or so, I gather that was because of this? I see a few things got changed on the site, too.

Now that it's all over, I can finally say:
You ALL seem suspect.
There.
I had to get that shit off my chest.

When I clicked on the current episode for Bytejacker(12/7/09) I got hit by the fake "your computer is infected"script. Popped up four or more windows before I finally killed it.
I could not get the episode to run in Firefox with noscript so I copy/pasted the url to the episode into IE and it started spamming me with the messages immedately.

This is something else then what was originally reported. We're engaging our ad-partners now to resolve the issue. If you have additional information, please post to the thread (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=31817) in the support forum.
Thanks.

My new theory: the Illuminati wants us discredited. That is the only possible explanation for so much craziness in the last couple month.

Wow. I'm losing respect for the Illuminati. I mean if they can't discredit you guys how can they ever hope to take over the world.
