Hehe, loved the show actually.
And i somehow liked the darkness within... It was sorta cozy :) Reminds me of my workplace i guess.

Darkness was pretty nice. For some reason I forgot everything ran on battery power (minus the internet).. it was kind of unexpected
I've been using bing for a month, as well. The only thing I miss is google maps. Bing's maps look better, and seem to be easier to read, but google seems to give better directions. Also, searching for my address or anything simple like pizza and my zipcode, google brings up results. Bing doesn't usually bring it up unless i'm more specific.
Bing's basic search isn't quite as good as google's. Everything isn't as up to date and crawled as often. But for the most part, it's good enough
I do fear for google, though. Google's search is minimalistic and loads fast, but bing is embracing technology. Google search isn't. The image scrolling in bing is just fantastic. Video previews is fantastic. It loads just as fast and doesn't clutter anything. Google needs to embrace technology for their search page or they will perish.

About internet during power outage, this is where a good UPS comes in VERY handy. Just plug in your cable modem and wireless router into the UPS (and nothing else) and now you've got battery-powered internet for a few hours! Just open up your laptop and browse away while the power company fixes your line and also making your neighbors jealous seeing your lone SSID up and running :D

I get kind of annoyed at Kevin's reaction to basically everything Microsoft. Im surprised he was finally willing to give bing a try.
It's just that any time a Microsoft product is mentioned, Kevin has this look of disappointment or annoyance on his face. But if it were an Apple product, he'd be drooling all over it. He's incredibly biased...
Alex on the other hand allways seems to be really open minded to any product, regardless of the company.
In my opinion, people shouldn't really worry about who made the product, but instead, the features and quality of the product.

He's Kevin f*ckin Rose man.. he can do whatever he wants. Microsoft has done nothing but disappoint everyone for the past 9 years so that look of disgust is actually justified dude.
Kevin and Alex.. you both rule. Keep up the bad @$$ness that is DiggNation.

speak for yourself.
I guess the XBoxes (both of them) are a complete disappointment from Microsoft? Windows 7 is amazing, let's not forget XP, which people are fighting tooth and nail not to give up. I'd agree that specific products and specific events at a very HUGE company have given it some bad press, but it hardly represents the whole of Microsoft.
I'd say the complaint is more that any time a Microsoft product is mentioned, Kevin gets a disappointment/annoyed look on his face, rather than wanting to know more information. Basically, he's already written off the product simply by the company name. It'd be like if a laptop/netbook only company announced that they are making a phone, and you don't bother reading anything about it because you don't like netbooks/laptops.

exactly what I was saying.
And just because he's Kevin Rose does not mean a damn thing. I respect him completely for everything he's done. I've been a huge fan of his since the days of Tech TV, back when he wasn't brainwashed by Apple.
He's a great guy, but because of his close connections to Apple, it seems like he is becoming more and more biased toward them.
I just can't take any of his opinions on Microsoft products seriously anymore.

Great episode but i would like to see more up to date stories. This episode was shot back to back with the last one. I wish they would take just a little bit more time for some prep. Otherwise i liked it very much.

Alex - Who are you kidding?
I just decided to give bing a week trial as Alex did and now Kevin is doing.
I changed my onetouch search, my home page and my search engine plugin, all ready for the week long trial.
That was 3 hours ago, everything is back to Google now, that was horrible, the shopping search was unusable, the maps were small and page was covered with bumph. the image search didn't work with my cool-iris FF plugin and while interesting was not really any better.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it works for you, but it's terrible in my humble opinion.
Great Show as always.
Thanks

Most people aren't recording video podcasts when the power goes out. I think I'll save 170$ and read my kindle when the power goes out.

Why call out Kevin for not being a MS fan when Alex is always overhyped about Microsoft?
I don’t give a rat’s ass either way but it seems like in today’s day and age people point out what they don’t like about the “opposition” and conveniently leave out the fact that their guy does the very same thing.

umm, I believe the point of the "try it for a week" was that you actually use it for a week to get away from your knee-jerk reactions... apparently you failed at it.

Thank you Kevin and Alex for reading my email :) unfortunately I don't think she watches Diggnation anymore because I showed her the awesomeness and since we're going through some very rough times right now she has stopped watching the awesomeness. I was hoping she would see this episode, but I'm not sure she will. :( I do appreciate the effort and I will send an email with the full story and a picture attached. Not n00dz though :) But thank you for trying to relay my message, it actually made me feel a lot better about this whole situation. You guys are awesome!
what exactly did alex mean about Viagra when he said "I've never thought of doing that recreationally"? Kevin kind of looked at him like wtf

Jeeze, does Kevin have to hate on EVERYTHING Microsoft does? He's turned into such a fanboy and and sort of seems less geeky since using the Mac. That sucks.
Mind you, this is coming from a guy with an Apple avatar who typed this on a Macbook.
