Very exciting news, folks! Soon you'll be able to watch all Revision3 shows on the Roku Box!

The Roku Digital Video Player costs just $99 and allows you to stream Netflix, watch all MLB games, and - very, very soon - Revision3 on your TV.

Read about it in our blog (http://revision3.com/blog/2009/10/15/rokuhere-comes-revision3/) for details and a clip from this week's episode of Tekzilla (http://www.revision3.com/tekzilla/inspired), which takes a look into the upcoming Revision3 channel on Roku.

LOVE the new channel, I really enjoy HD Nation and Tekzilla on the plasma.

Okay, at the risk of huge anti-censorship, "you suck as a parent", and "you should watch your kid every second" type of backlash that seems to inevitably ensue whenever some parental unit posts messages like this, I'd like to make a request to the Roku channel developers here at Revision3.

Please give me a way to go into my account on the site here and specify which shows are available on the TV via the Roku.

I would love to just have HDNation and Tekzilla among others, for example, without having to worry about shows on the Roku that we don't consider appropriate for my 9 year old at our house.

There is no parental lockout on the Roku itself (beyond just not allowing an entire provider's channel). I don't want to have to remove the whole Rev3 channel.

Yes we actively participate in parenting...it's not like we use the TV as a "babysitter", but heck, there's times you are busy around the house and want the kid to be able to watch a little TV on her own without you looking over her shoulder to worry about content. We can turn her loose to watch unsupervised any of the Netflix content we've set up. Plus, you set up boundaries, but then let the kid have freedom of choice within those bounds, rather than have to constantly nag her "what you turning on now, let me check it first" etc.

With Netflix, I control the queue on the password protected Netflix account on the PC, then only the movies we want show up. With some of the other channel providers in the new Roku store, again, you can configure what shows up through your web account with those providers.

All I'm requesting is the tools to make the choices myself...then you don't have concerns as one poster mentioned about stand up comedy being bleeped or moderating content on Scam School, TRS, or game reviews or whatever.

Don't censor anything on the network....just give parents the tools so we can make our own choices about visibility of shows in our households, rather than having to take the whole firehose of content on the Roku.

Thanks for your consideration.

You make very good points, but as you pointed out. The kind of control you are asking for is already available on Netflix. This means that the tools are available for the providers of EACH channel, to give you this kind of control. If enough folks request this kind of control, I am sure Revision3 would provide it.

It seems the Medifly channel is the weak point for any parental controls since you can access Rev3 shows from there without creating an account on the site. Rev3 would also have to stop 3rd parties from rebroadcasting content and stop streaming of some shows without an account.

Some people have said that shows that had swearing are now beeped, so perhaps they are going to shift shows to a PG rating? Right now internet TV is totally unregulated, so they need to self regulate before the FCC moves in.

It would probably be pretty easy for Revision 3 to make it so that you can permanently select which shows from them you would like to be able to see in the menu for their channel on your Roku. Now that everything is up and running maybe they will have time to do some refinements.

I just set up my Rev3 channel, started watching Tekzilla and my aspect ratio is all funky. It's in 4:3 standard on my widescreen tv and it is definitely chopping the ends off my picture. It also looks like the picture is scrunched into the 4:3 square. Am I alone in my issue or has anyone else noticed this? I'm on the new Roku XR and a Sony Bravia TV.

So I created an account on Revision 3. Check.
So I went to Roku and added Revision 3 to my channel list. Check.
Roku provides me my revision 3 access code. Check.
So I went to the URL listed on roku for revision3 channel to input my access code.
http://www.revision3.com/roku
.....what?
I see no place to enter an access code. Is your website broken?

Hey, guys, I look forward to actually seeing a Revision 3 channel on Roku. IF that day ever comes....:)

I also went through the create an account and then went to the tv and copied down the code and then went to the page and no place for the code.
Somebody else said you don't need the code now but I don't believe that is true.
Help.................

As far as I know, you just login at revision3 (not the forums, the main page), Account Settings http://revision3.com/account and choose the Roku tab at the top there to activate or deactivate one?

Aha, for my new account, I do NOT see this tab.

Perhaps it only appears for old members.... Strange!

I also do not see how to activate the roku player. The link on the roku player does not take you to a page on the site to activate your account. Also in my account screen there is no Roku tab.

The activation code requirement has been removed. Just follow the instructions on the right hand side of the http://revision3.com/roku page to get your favorite Revision3 shows on the Roku.

Will this mean that we'll eventually see Rev3 on other streaming devices that can stream netflix? I have a Roku Box already and love it, but it would be damn sweet if i could also stream Rev3 on my Netflix/pandora ready bluray player.

This would be good to know. I don't want to waste precious HDMI ports when there are so many devices coming out that have the ablilty to do netflix, pandora, bd live, etc..

$100 is not a lot to spend but I would rather just wait to see if my LG BD 390 will have the ability to stream revision 3 in the future rather than going to the site or through the podcast.
