I'm voting iPod, the Zune is a brick.

I strongly suggest you go try out a Zune before going with the kneejerk "its a brick" mentality.
If you mainly use it for video, then it might be a better option than than the iPod (the screen is 44% larger at 3" diagonal rather than 2.5" on iPod).

True, but also keep in mind that Apple makes a new iPod every month. :P
Its only a matter of time until they come out with that touch screen video iPod. After all, Macworld is just around the corner.

You mean the Toshiba already failed before MP3 player re packaged and failed again MS Zune I 'sell' at my store that since it launched and we sold two ever since..one to our DM and the other to our SM and is the most DRM heavy things ever vs Ipod
I am not a big fan of either but go ipod unless you want a collectors piece that in a few years you will pull it out and show it at some covention not far away on the table for didplay of MSN internet only desktops from 2001. :p

You can't really ask that question, iPods are iPods, they are what music is these days, I would have to say get another and another ipod. If you have money to spend, get both, see which you think or like better.

I'm sticking with an iPod mostly cause I have a mac, and something tells me the Zune isn't going to be back friendly, but also because I have a bunch of iPod accessories to use with it, all of which would be useless with a Zune.
With that said, the Zune does look pretty cool. The sharing is nice except for the crappy DRM, and the screen is nice, except it's going to be harder on the battery and I don't even watch videos on my video. Also the lack of automatic podcast support would probably be kinda annoying. And that it's little wheel isn't a wheel, but buttons. That one took me a second to figure out when I tried to use one the first time.
Personally, I say the iPod is better, but it's nice to see some competition to start pushing Apple to do even more.
Also, just wondering, are you using a Mac or PC? Just about all my friends who used their iPod's on a PC have ended up having major problems with them, and everyone who uses theirs with a Mac, has had none. I don't know why it should matter, but it's just a trend I've been seeing lately.

Ill go with a Zune, im alot into video, bigger screen is better, and it has a way better battery life, and you can put photos as backgrounds, its cool, more my style, well more than an iPod, plus everyone already has an iPod
For me, I like the Zune

I can sum up the Zune in 2 parts:
Zune Hardware very good on par with iPod if not better.
Zune Software horrible. Half the time it wont import all your songs to the library. I have some tips on how to fix this so if anyone gets a Zune and is having any problems send me a PM.

The iPod has already shown itself to be favorable with the market and so is unlikely to drop out of existence anytime soon. Wait for the Zune to prove itself.

I agree with Ariastar to some extent... make sure Zune is sticking around before throwing down.
That said, i'd take a Zune over an iPod myself -- and no, it's not because i'm a PC user, not an Apple user. First of all, it doesn't sound like you've had that great of an experience with your iPod. Secondly, i must admit that i strongly dislike iTunes, especially the way in which it interfaces with the iPod.. sure, it works well, but some things are a hell of a lot harder to do than they should be.
I just stared typing out this story about my experiences so far with iPods, but realized it was too long and not really worth telling. So just imagine a long, arduous battle to get the music of, reformat an iPod, and put the music back on, and thats what i was going to type.
And finally, what i think is probably the strongest selling points for the Zune as far as i'm concerned: How long will it before someone cracks the firmware, writes a linux replacement, and suddenly you will be able to do all sorts of things with this video / mp3 playing wireless device? :D

There's a difference between being able to 'do' stuff with a device and being able to do it well, look at iPod Linux, sure it has functionality but it's difficult as hell to use.

thanks guys for the feed back the brick thing doesn't bother me because i don't run with it or put it in my pocket and the surface is alot more less likely to scratch and better battery life the only thing i want to know is how do i get diggnation or in digital and other podcasts on there and i have music from iTunes but thats what QTFair Use is for lol

Also, the Zune seems more hacker friendly and well you know me... anything that has a scene...
