2004 avail on netflix
Could be my favorite samurai movie to date. Incredibly acted and the filming of it wasn't intrusive at all - you feel like a person sitting in the room or passing by rather than watching things unfold through the lens . . . so so good. I highly suggest fans of foreign films to give it a shot because being labeled a "Samurai" movie is a bit misleading since most of the ones I've seen have a great deal of fighting . . . this has battles but they are of character.
Probably the only samurai movie I felt was "beautiful" in its crafting.
