Verizon FINALLY released an official update for the Blackberry Storm (5.0.0.328).

Since I got the Stom I've been loading the leaked firmware. Each update was better than the last, but the phone's always been buggy (even with the leaked firmware). I was actually planning on selling the Storm and getting one of the Android phones on Verizon because of this.

I FINALLY have an awesome and OFFICIAL update for my Storm. This is how the phone should have worked from day one. It's SO fast now. No wait when unlocking/locking the phone like before. Camera is super fast and so is launching applications. In short, it's fast and actually works now. I feel like I'm using a totally different phone.

They also added in "flick" scrolling like the iPhone and tweaked the UI a bit to make it look better.

I'm very happy. DEFINITELY update if you have a Storm.

If you sign a new contract with Verizon, I would sell the one you have now and put that money towards a Storm 2. I played with one today, it's SO nice. It's probably the easiest touchscreen keyboard to type on. And this is coming from a guy who liked the Storm 1 keyboard, but thought the iPhone keyboard was easier to use.

I can't believe how far the phone has come. All Blackberry needs to work on now is becoming more developer friendly. That and I'd like it if they made the UI a LITTLE better looking. They made some improvements with the 5.0 OS, so they're getting there.

Everyone is starting to rule out RIM, but they're FAR from that.
