that a sweet trick, when dan martin did it, i couldn't see shit! but i'd only pull this one out after everyone has had a few beer, so they don't clue into the ping sound, would also work well if there was a table cloth down.

btw brian i love the 1 liners at the start and end of the shows!

I have only seen 2:30 in to the show and Dan is stealing Brians beer. Great fun.

My girlfriend can do the tying cherry stem thing like a pro. But wait... is she scaming me? No, She is the "sexiest lady".

Great episode.

Brian tweeted that there is a BBLiveshow shout-out in the ep, but I have't found it yet. I did miss a couple shows recently, but I figured these SS eps were recorded last month.

My guess, the drunken mob.

I learned this trick a while back and I learned how to do it without throwing the coin onto a table. If you throw the coin just right, you can catch it in your other hand and it makes the trick that much more impressive. Practice using a table and then try it this way. Its pretty awesome.

Yeah.. this is an old one... but I either dont have the dexterity.... or havent practiced enuff to make it "invisible".... I dont know...

Makes me wonder... have I been able to fig out most of the "magic" scams because I've always been interested and paid attn to magic acts (where someone else might be more interested in styling of the magicians "panache" or what brand clothes the guy is wearing etc)?

I always thought of magic tricks as a challenge.... "I'll try to cheat/fool you... its your job to stop me/figure it out".. I also look at it the same way in reverse when I'm performing a trick: "Think you are better/smarter?... try to beat me or figure it out"

When someone shows me a puzzle.. I dont think "isnt that a pretty puzzle.. nice lines and execution.".. I try to solve it/unmask it..

Brian, who totally kicks ass and actually replies to postings (unlike other Rev3 Egos).. made mention to one of my postings where I did a: "I got ya.... the way you presented the cards showed that there were cards hidden behind the top cards".
As a Skeptic I said : "I could reach out, grab that card and show there were 4 others underneath". And you posted something about : "I thought taught you better".
Sorry Bro-ham... gimme a challenge/puzzle.... an I'm in it.

Luv ya Brian... and the BBLive.. (The "only way to make a pretty cake" is with Brian, JRy, and AmTrekker)... btw that vid was removed after exposure by the BBLive show... Influence is getting noticed.

I'm posting this to explain that afew of UR viewers are at, maybe, a stage 2 or 3 (in the puzzle scheme).. and that we mean no dis-respect in critiques of episodes...

But that you are so great... that we want More, more, more!

I think Scam School should be a daily episode! I'll send you a beer.

He mentioned in a post about peeps w/ skinny fingers that try to "palm/hide" a card... that the spaces between fingers are called "Windows" (in Magician-ese). Perhaps Brian could make a 5 min vid every week in combination w/ the TRICK vid to show how to compensate for skinny fingers, etc (U'd still be able to put 1 or 2 ads in it)

F*** Tekzilla Daily!.... Who else thinks we need a Scam School Daily? HELL YEAH!

Actully. Tying the cherry thing into a knot is very easy. I learned the "trick" to preload a tied cherry as a child. After learning that I tried tying one for real using only my tongue and teeth. It took about 20 seconds on the first try and I have since perfected it to 5 seconds.

I'll upload a video and a how to to YT. Link coming soon.

This one was pretty simple. I've also substituted wooden matches (black ones) for the coin and it works just as well. You have to be careful though because it's so light and you have to put a little more force into it to make the toss. It's nice though because you don't hear that 'clink' sound.

This one's an oldie. I haven't been able to pull it off without people letting me know they already knew the trick. Maybe I hang out with too many people in the know ><

I quit trying after I lost three quarters under the furniture strewn about my room.

This is a brilliant off-the-cuff trick to try anytime. I find, though, that the immediate response is "Do it again>"and too many repititions can have people figuring it out. Twice is a lesson, right?

Hey-there
I teach magic to kids from ages 10 to 19 at a Boys and Girls Club.

Well I needed a simple and quick trick so naturally I went to Scam School.
I found the "Dan Martin Vanishing Coin Trick".

I thought, this is good. Teaches good hand coordination, patience and is a very
visual effect for not a lot of money. Pennies in fact.
So with 10 little kids in tow, I take them to their "Magician's Room" and show them the trick.

"WOW" "Howdja Du that" and so forth.
Armed with a roll of pennies I hand 2 out to each kid.
We go over the trick one more time, then they start their practice session.

PENNIES go Flying all over the place. Smack on my forehead - Blam into the wall - across
the room and soon all 50 pennies have left the kid's palm to find a new home somewhere else in the room.

What a Blast we had.
After the initial "Penny Launch" the kids got down to the magic and by the end of the
session, the penny was magically moving from palm A to palm B.

The other fun part was having the kids come up with a story for why the pennies moved.
Such story lines were:
Randy Moss needs to move from here to there to catch a Brady pass
My Mom would not let me watch tv so I sneak out of my room to my friend's house
Juliette wants to meet up with Romeo but her Dad is mean and won't let her leave

What a great time and super fun.
Thanks Brian and Dan of course
