Great show! I loved the "Sold out to Rev3" bit. You guys just don't care anymore -- do you? :D
Also, I disagree with Haunting Ground being an underrated game. I've never played it, but I have watched a walkthrough for it. I don't see how that game can be fun --- where are the weapons?
And lastly, why is a man in a bathtub on this show? :D

first of all, funny as per usually! I have to say, I'm not real big fan of this years game of the year list, I'm not sure, but looks smaller than last years or am I just crazy? Now as for the games, I think that spelunky is probably going to take the cake (there is no cake :P), with auditorium a close second. I'm not a real fan of both though spelunky was quite enjoyable, my personal first place is going to have to be Icycle, just the idea of a man (the last man) riding a comically small bike trough some creepy yet beautiful environments got me sold from the first second. Just some of my thoughts, what do you guys think?

Great episode this week. Super Meat Boy looks awesome as always, definitely a day 1 purchase for me, and on WiiWare. The Free Indie of The Year candidates seem sensible, although I would have liked them all to be a part of it, but whatever. I guess 50-odd games would be too much.
Also, is some kind of admin reading this? If so, you might have seen my awesome FIOTW list (which is stickeyed), which I need editing priveleges to keep going. If there is ANY way POSSIBLE you COULD HELP ME with THIS I will listen.

where are the weapons?
Seriously...?
Cmon man, as an indie lover, I though you'd think differentely.
I'm pretty sure indie games have proven over and over again that you don't need 50 fancy weapons with rockets, lasers and explosions to have a great games. Shooters with zombies or about world wars are all the same, and that's the reason why I love indie games.
Even in mainstream games, you can look at Portal. With only one simple gun that does two simple things, they created one of the simplest yet entertaining and fun game out there.
As you can see, it is possible to have fun games without having any guns. That's where the actual originality comes in. Mirrors Edge and Twin Sector are two other beautiful example of that.

You judged incorrectly. I am not an "indie lover". I like good games, especially if they are cheap/free. I don't care who makes them.

Portal is an unusual game. Your worst enemies are the environment and turrets (which can be deactivated).
Haunting Ground, however, is a game where you play as a scared, freak-out-prone woman running for her life from crazed murderers the entire game. The best weapon you have is a dog, and even he is not reliable. In other survival horror games, you do have some weapon(s). In Resident Evil games, you have pistols, shotguns, grenade launcher, etc... Even in Silent Hill 4 you have some melee weapons and a pistol. You have the ability to make a stand.
Haunting Ground is a game-long escort mission --- with the dog being the escorter. They should have at least given Fiona a long sharp knife from the kitchen or something.

If you tell me what you want to fix/add I'll be happy to correct it for you. That list is bad ass and you're the man for making it. e-mail me at Jon@bytejacker.com

Anthony, you lucky little son of a-- I'm really jealous that you get to be a playtester for Super Meat Boy. Is it hard? Does it make you want to tear your hair out? What about the impulse to do incredibly violent things?
Although, I'm sure you had more fun playing it than that poor three year old. :]

That three year old is reportedly better than me.
WHATEVER.
