I'm not a big phone guy, but this thing looks incredible.

* No buttons (actually one)
* 3.5" Widescreen/Touchscreen
* Plays music, movies, TV shows
* Interegrates seemlessly with iLife
* Wi-Fi and Bluetooth
* Cingular is the provider -- Not sure if that was a good move.
* Safari Web Browser
* A ton of other cool stuff too

$499 for a 4Gb / $599 for an 8Gb.

That just might be the ugliest thing ive ever seen, so so dissapointed over this macworld. To me the iphone was a big let down, apple tv might be good when more is known about it but still expensive, but the new airport express is hot. But man this phone was a let down to me in so many ways. Looks horrible, completely retarded design(gona get scratched to hell/ touch screen is gona get ass ****ed/ taco phone/ i want a phone not a ipod) and its ONLY cingular and its 500 dollars with a 2 year contract....

It looks like a vista wana be...

I was hoping they would of announced a separate iPod, because I don't want a new cell I want a new iPOD!

Also didn't AT&T buy out Cingular?

wow your hating on it. I just got back from the keynote and the convention. This device is the coolest single piece of tech I have ever seen. Its gonna revolutionize everything.

It's hard to think how revolutionary a $600 phone is gonna be. I'm not really into the device convergence. But for anyone who is, this sounds like a great device.

I'm amused by how Apple is diversifying it's line of products. It used to be just a computer company. Now it seems it's turning into a general electronics company. How long before we see Apple camera's, gaming consoles or small kitchen appliances?

iCrock anyone?

So not long until they turn into Sony, and start making crappy products. That is my biggest fear.

Sony doesn't make crappy products. In fact, up to about five years ago, Sony was the standard for great electronic products. With the exception of certain laptop batteries, many of their product lines are still second to none.

However, they have been making crappy marketing decisions That fact that anyone would even dream of making the statement you did is proof of that.

Apple's iPod has already overthrown Sony's personal media market and the BOX and the Wii are gonna eat the PS3 for breakfast. Don't get me started on the whole PS3 failure.

Look for companies like Samsung to snipe other product markets over the next few years.

That looks pretty cool, but I almost wish they would have just put all that technology in a new iPod. I think that's almost TOO many features for a phone. Nice for music, pictures, etc, but I'd rather have my iPod doing that. With the price of the iPhone and only being Cingulair, as much as I love it, I wouldn't consider buying it. Hopefully these features(screen size, touch screen, WiFi integrated with iLife, etc) show up in the next iPod. I didn't think I'd buy another iPod until mine completely dies, but if an iPod had all those features, I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
