The following was posted on the Revision3 Blog by David Prager - please check out the full post here (http://revision3.com/blog/2010/01/11/pixelperfect-comes-to-an-end/) along with Bert's goodbye video:

Just about 4 years ago, I approached my friend, Bert Monroy, and told him that I started a fledgling little Internet TV network called Revision3. Bert and I became friends when I used to work as a segment producer for the now defunct cable television network, TechTV. I worked on a daily live technology variety show called The Screen Savers and Bert would frequent the show as a guest to demonstrate tips and tricks in Photoshop. A good percentage of the time, I would produce those segments.

It would be putting it lightly to say that Bert is an expert in digital artistry, specifically Photoshop. You can read plenty more about Bert here, including the fact that he is a member of the Photoshop Hall of Fame.

I approached Bert because I thought it would be a fantastic idea to expand on the types of segments that he did on The Screen Savers by turning the concept into an entire web television series. A few months later, and PixelPerfect with Bert Monroy was born!

Sans a brief hiatus for a couple of months in 2008, new episodes of Pixel Perfect have been released every week for 160 weeks. My math isn’t the greatest, but I think we’re talkin’ about 50 hours of PixelPerfect with Bert Monroy.

All good things usually come to an end, however. Bert has decided to spend the coming months focusing his energy on personal projects including his latest work of fine art entitled “Times Square” and his work for Lynda.com.

We wish Bert all the very best and hope he’ll come back to make guest appearances on shows like Tekzilla from time to time to share his wisdom on Hyper-realist art and Photoshop.

I first saw you on Tech TV and you amazed me there.

I've attended two of your seminars and you amazed me there.

I've seen every Revision 3 Pixel Perfect episode and you amazed me there.

Thank you for the education and all of the...uh...amazement.

Here's hoping for your continued health and success.

Good luck, Bert!

Thx for all the knowledge you shared with us all over these years. Your show made me finally use photoshop as it should be used. And you introduced so many good other teachers in your shows that I still follow too like Russell Brown and Deke McClelland. I'm very curious for your times square. Good luck in the future with your projects.

Thanks, Bert, for being a dodge tool on my dark Mondays. I'm glad you're getting to go out on your own terms this time. You have given us a wealth of knowledge and inspiration, and I'll always think of it as "play."

I have watched every episode since the beginning and I am sad to see you go, but the things I have learned from you will undoubtedly stick with me for a long time.

Bye Bert!

ok this really sucks to be honest and I hate that this show is getting cancelled again. I know it is under different circumstances this time so we can't yell at anyone about it like last time. :) Still it sucks.

I wish instead of forcing weekly shows Revision 3 would do seasons with different shows...like PixelPerfect and maybe Web Drifter. Let the shows still live but not force them to be weekly so if at some point the host, Bert, needs to take a break they simply end the season and have a hiatus until they can find the time to get back into the episodes. I honestly don't see why this can't be an option and it can easily solve the problem with people not having the time to do shows every week.

Anyway, with that said, Thank You for all the shows and help you have given us over the years Bert and I still remember all the great stuff from TechTV (I still HATE g4). Your segments on TSS showed me so much that I actually stopped using PaintShop Pro and finally took the plunge into Photoshop and I'm certainly glad I did.

I know I was kind of complaining about Rev3 but I love you guys and I love Rev3 so I only complain in the most positive way possible. :)

So with that said, thanks for everything Bert and best of luck in all your future endeavors.

Once again I find myself bidding farewell to this great show. On the bright side, the choice to end the show, was Bert's this time. I'll miss Pixel Perfect. I have become such a better graphic guy thanks to Bert's teachings. It's going to be sad not having to look forward to another episode, but I can understand the reasoning.

Good luck with Time Square Bert. I look forward to seeing what you do next.

Thanks also to Rev 3 for giving us a great tutorial show.

It probably sounds a bit sad, but one of my highlights of the week was to watch Bert make his magic. I have learned a lot, and I was always entertained while I was learning, which is the best way to learn.

I'll miss you Bert, and would like to thank you for the great show and the inspiration.

Thanks Bert. I hope Times Square is all you'd want it to be, and I wish you even more success for the future.

Not trying to beat the dead horse or anything but why doesn't Revision3 just hire a new host?

And good luck Bert, you're awesome.

Bert if you read these forums I just want to know that you are my greatest inspiration for digital media. The impact you have had over me in the last years is incredible and even though you don't you know me, you literally taught me how to use photoshop and to use it well. After learning your techniques and having so much FUN doing it, I literally shifted my course of study to digital media and design. Although that it's sad to see you go just know that you made a huge impact on my life and I thank you for all of it.
Good luck on your Times Square piece!
Hope that you continue to have fun and play!

Bert was definitely great, no question about it, but hosts come and go. That's normal during a show's lifecycle and I'm sure Bert and the fans would love to see the show go on, and if the show was watched and was giving Revision3 revenue why not?

Maybe Revision3 already has people employed who wouldn't mind showing off good Photoshop stuff. You could even do it app judgment style, with a different host every week. It would be fun.

I'd like to thank Bert and Revision3 for providing us with such exceptional content on this front (and others, of course!).

I'd love to see someone step in and take the show in a new direction. I loved the show before, but let's be frank, it could have been better and more practical.

As someone who has been a "creative" for 16 years now, my primary weakness is the technical side of Photoshop. Things like channels and layer modes, paths, etc. I can "make it work", but I'd really like to see someone take over who can really show not only the fun and creative stuff, but also the technical elements that make Photoshop such a powerful tool.

Bert, being (and this is in no way meant with any negativity) an old timer, might not have the "edge" that the show could really use. Especially when you consider the rest of the Rev3 programming.

Just my two cents. Feel free to make change.

Everything quoted above x2. Thanks for giving a novice Photoshopper inspiration to explore and have fun.

I felt this one comming for a while. Rev3 has gone a different direction towards mindless pop culture stuff. Not to blame anybody, whatever brings in the cash right?

To be honest; I didn't watch the show for months now. Since the last time the show got cancelled, the quality was missing. It didn't show up on the home page of Rev3 either.

Anyway..

Thank you Bert for all your advise throughout the years. I wish you all the best on personal and professional level.

Thanks.

... but then again, I have 160 episodes to watch that I didn't see in the first place. I only found out about this great site through Roku and I must say that the final episode opened up a whole new world to me. Thank you so much. I cannot wait to watch the "old" episodes. If they're anything like the latest, and last, I'm in for a treat. Professional photographers are special inasmuch as they have no problem sharing their secrets with the rest of us hopefuls. Thank you very much, Bert.

Thankyou Bert for the tutorials!

Great inspiration, no matter how big or small the tutorial was, it taught me something.

I hope to see your time square peice once it is completed, I love Damen and show all my friends it as it is unbelievable that photoshop can be used to produce such a photo-realistic image.

I'm pretty new to the designer scene, so I only came across your work pretty recently. You are an inspiration to us newcomers. I keep comparing you to the Bob Ross of Digital Art. Thanks for everything Bert.

I have to say I'm gonna miss this show. Not only for the excellent show and the tips that Bert taught every week, but also because of a lot of the other fans that I have met through this forum. I think that this has definately been one of the best forums that I have been a part of, from help from other people when I am stuck, to inspiration from the quality of the work posted up.I would like to genuinely thank not only bert and rev3(that goes without saying lol), but also the mass of fans that have helped me out on this site. :)

I've been a heavy Photoshop user for a long time now, but I've always appreciated watching your show (when I can steal the time). Invariably there was something interesting to glean, and it was always insightful to see how you approach a challenge. I look forward to seeing you and your projects in the future.

I am a newbie to Revision3 , 3D Graphics and Photoshop. I stumbled across Bert Monroy and Pixel Perfect while on the DAZ 3D Forum in a discussion about how to create realistic looking water with Photoshop. Less than 5 minutes into the show I was a fan and hooked! The show was great and I learned more in that one episode than I ever knew about illustrating water. Of course, I then proceeded to blow off another 2 hours at work and watched several more shows. I can't thank you enough, Bert for all I've learned from you so far.

Earlier this year I took a Photoshop course at our local community college - what a waste of my hard earned cash. I could have upgraded PS AND purchased ZBrush for the money I laid out. I've learned more in the last few days with Bert than I did in an entire semester. Too bad I did find Revision3 and Pixel Perfect earlier.

Now I'll shut-up but please tell me that all 160 episodes have been archived. It would be a tragedy to let Bert, his quality of teaching and mind-boggling level of PS expertise slip off into the digital ether.

Cheers,

SteveVA

My 12 year old daughter spends way too much time on the computer especially IMVU where she creates her own avatars and accessories. I was very impressed with her work using Photoshop and asked her where she had learned how to do the hair designs and other features of her avatars, I was amazed to learn that she watches Pixel Perfect, she had stumble across Bert Monroy's tutorial on hair and she became hooked on his show. She doesn't know it yet, but Santa is bringing her a Macbook Pro for Christmas 2010 so that she can continue to develop this new found talent. Thank you so much Bert for the influence you have had on my daughter and helping her learn what she loves.

It's a shame to end this program... I've seen every episode almost from the beginning and I will miss how Bert Monroy unveiled the secrets of photoshop for all of us.
It was a pleasure to take lessons from you Bert.
Thank you very much from Spain
