After watching the last episode with the HDMI-over-UTP baluns, it made me think of something I want to do at my own home.

I have a Samsung LN32B360 on a flat wall mount in my bedroom, and I'd like to get HD cable from Comcast--which means a set-top box. Not wanting any exposed wiring, I want to put the STB in my LAN closet.

For the infrared remote signals, I plan on using a ChannelVision IR-2400 in the bedroom with an IR-1203 and IR-3001 in the closet at the STB. They connect easily--all I need is 4-conductor alarm wire.

The HDMI signal is what I'd like to ask about. Instead of dealing with HDMI-over-UTP baluns, Monoprice has a 22 AWG 25' HDMI cable for $24.25; a lot less than a pair of baluns--and easier to boot. My house has an easy crawlspace and I'm very comfortable with fishing wire, so that's not a problem.

Will a 25' HDMI cable like this one carry a 1080p signal without a problem?

Thanks

If you are referring to this one (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024001&p_id=3657&seq=1&format=3#specification) it does say it's triple shielded against EMI (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetic_interference), there's no particular reason it won't work. Try to avoid water pipes and mains wires.
