As of right now I use a computer I put together for nearly everything as it can handle it. As well as a smaller computer using much less power as a file and content server for the house.
As I have been getting more into movies than video games (though this will help gaming too) I have been looking into amplifiers instead of using the 5.1 speakers I currently have plugged into the PC. Until I came across this little item that HDNation had a brief blurb about, a board that AMD was developing that can easily play Blu-Ray and has a built-in 5.1 amp.
"Perfect!" I thought as I rushed to find out more. All I needed was the board and BD-Drive, I could run Windows on it and use it as a Media Center, File Server, and Amp all in one small box that uses the same power as my current server.
Sadly, after finding out the exact board they were talking about, the MSI Media Live DIVA 5.1 MS-7411-001, I come to find out I may very well be out of luck. Not only can I not find it for sale anymore, but over 2/3rds of the people that bought it ended up with it either being DOA or frying on them in weeks (which is probably why I cant find it anywhere).
So I come asking for help (from anyone that bothered to read the whole story lol) if anyone knows what options I have. Is there another solution out there, another AMD board with a built in amp or even a all in one Intel option?
By the way, they are still selling the 7.1 PRE-AMP option, but thats the PRE-AMP! board, Im looking to not have to buy a separate amp if I am able to.
