Hey, aren't comic books for kids! Not really anymore, but there are some great comics for kids from age 3 upward. Tiny Titans, G-Man, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and more!

Watch or download this episode now! (http://revision3.com/ifanboy/ifanboy-episode145)

Can you put of a list of the books they talked about, like a show notes? I'd like to look at that Wizard of Oz. They've mentioned it more than once and it's caught my attention.

Great episode guys! And even better is that, due to an omission on your part, I'm finally motivated to post something here:

Where's Andy Runton's OWLY?? http://www.andyrunton.com/comics.html

or Jimmy Gownley's AMELIA RULES? http://www.ameliarules.com/

and how about (for those older kids) The Simpsons?
(no official website that I can find...)

Anyhow... I've got 3 kids who are "too old" for comics (so they say), but when they were younger, the above were some of their faves (and Mr. Smith's BONE, of course).

I must say this was a really strange episode for someone from Europe.
We never had that dip in childrens comics, so I have a ton comics I remember fondly from my youth.
Some that immediately spring to mind are:

- Tintin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Tintin)
- Asterix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asterix)
- Suske en Wiske (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spike_and_Suzy)
- Jan, Jans en de Kinderen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack,_Jacky_and_the_Juniors)
- Spirou and Fantasio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirou_et_Fantasio)
- Lucky Luke (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucky_Luke)

Trade books my 10 year son old loves;

Usagi Yojimbo- This is a nice tie into Karate classes if the child is taking them.

Star Wars---Tag & Bink. This book, clone wars & lego minifigs seem to have sparked a creative bug. The kid's inventing clone stories & mapping out scenes in detail.

Please do another show next Nov/early Dec for all of us searching for holiday gifts for kiddos. (please, please)

A great episode! I was reminiscing about being ten years old and reading my first comic and thinking about how I could recommend comics to kids to share the same respect and love of the art that I have now.
